Full Screen time

I never imagined screen time could affect my niece this much…

At first, it felt harmless.

A little video here, a game there.

And honestly… I was tired.

It helped me get things done.

I kept telling myself:

“It’s normal. Every kid uses a phone.”

But then the small changes started.

My niece wasn’t the same.

😔 The spark in the eyes faded a little

😡 Meltdowns over tiny things

💤 Falling asleep later and later

😶 No excitement for toys, books, or even going outside

💔 And the worst part… pulling away from me

One night, I looked at my niece and thought:

“This can’t be the childhood I want for you.”

It broke me a little.

Because I realized…

I wasn’t just losing control of screen time —

I was losing moments I would never get back.

So I made a gentle change.

Not a big rule.

Not a punishment.

Just small, loving steps toward screen‑free time.

  • Coloring.
  • Drawing.
  • Quiet moments.
  • Little activities that brought us back to each other.

And slowly…

I got my niece back.
