I'm Lize Deng, a fine art and documentary photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. Human-centred storytelling is at the heart of all my work, from local history projects to weddings and charity events.

I love exploring New Zealand's stunning landscapes and photographing human interactions with the natural world. As a pianist, I am fascinated by the intersection of the performing and visual arts, and you can often find me photographing dance and theatre onstage. In 2023, I won the Stills national photography competition for my work exploring the relationships between musicians, classical music, and light.

When I'm not making artwork, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and drinking tea (in no particular order).
