Luis Cardoso. PhD in Music - Composition. Saxophonist, Composer, Teacher and Conductor from Portugal. As composer and arranger his works have been gaining attention from different fields of the music spectra and he has won prizes of composition: in the year 2002 the Great Prize Silva Dionísio of Composition for Wind Band, promoted by INATEL, by unanimous decision of the jury, in 2006, the Composition Award from the Aveiro Federation of Musical Societies, Authors Award Finalist - Erudite Music Category - Portuguese Authors Society, in 2013, second Prize of the Composition Competition for Symphonic Band - Portuguese Symphonic Band, in 2014, and the Harvey Phillips Award Prize for Excellence in Composition - International Tuba Euphonium Association, in 2016 and 2021 (nominated finalist in 2010 and 2014).
