What is a Printable Template in Canva?
A Printable template in Canva is a pre-made design that you can use to create a physical product. You can customize the template by editing text, images, and other design elements. We create dozens of Editable and printable templates in the Canva Platform that can be used for creating things like posters, flyers, cards, invitations, Resumes & CVs, Stickers, business cards, and more. Once you've edited a design, you can download the template as a printable PDF file, JPE or PNG Photo, or even a video file.

The sizes, fonts, graphic elements, image holders and etc are placed in the best position and waiting to be edited by customers as they wish. You can edit the text, add your photo, or change the colors just with a few clicks. You don't need to be a designer, just place your photos and edit the text then export your final result.

The Designs and the print colors
The colors on screens sometimes look different than when they’re printed. That's because screens and printers use different color models. This results in a different range of colors per model.
RGB and CMYK are color models used to build colors. RGB builds colors using red, green, and blue and is used for on-screen color displays. CMYK uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, and is used for printing.
To help match the screen and printed colors during the creation of a printable template, I design with CMYK colors. Designing with the output in mind helps align the colors of your design when printed. You can also download a CMYK file after.
Downloading a CMYK PDF
To make sure that your file is indeed print-ready, Canva recommends you download a CMYK Print PDF. For Canva Print orders, you can skip this since Canva converts all orders to CMYK files.
- On the menu bar, select the Share icon.
- Select Download.
- On the File type dropdown, choose PDF Print.
- If the design has multiple pages, choose the pages you want to download from the dropdown and select Done.
- On the Color Profile dropdown, select CMYK.
- Select Download.
- If the design has premium elements, select ••• (beside Try Canva for Pro/Teams for free) and then on Purchase Pro Content License. Choose your preferred payment method and select Pay and Download to finish.
You can find the design in your device’s assigned download folder or photo gallery.
Remember this is available for Canva Pro, Canva for Teams, Canva for Education, and Canva for Nonprofits users.
