Melanie Peña

About Melanie

Melanie D. Peña is the founder behind Mind & Margins, an independent publication built around ideas that deserve more space to be explored.

Her interests span human behavior, independent thinking, identity, decision-making, self-awareness, and the forces that quietly shape how we live and choose.

Through Mind & Margins, Melanie creates a home for books and ideas that encourage readers to question more deeply, think more independently, and leave room in the margins for perspectives of their own.

Mara Vale

Mara Vale writes about the space between who we are, what the world expects from us, and who we consciously choose to become.

Her work explores independent thinking, human behavior, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, decision-making, identity, and the invisible influence other people can have on our choices.

Rather than telling readers what to think, Mara encourages them to examine how they think—to question assumptions, recognize outside influence, read situations more clearly, and make decisions that genuinely belong to them.

Her writing is direct, reflective, and grounded in everyday human experience. She is particularly interested in the moments when people stop living according to expectation and begin making deliberate choices about their own lives.

At the center of Mara Vale’s work is one principle:

Your life changes when your own mind becomes louder than everyone else’s opinion.

Ysabelle Green

GREEN

Teen writer. Gen Z perspective.

Green writes about what it actually feels like to grow up today—from family expectations and friendships to identity, self-expression, social media, pressure, choices, and finding your own voice.

Her writing looks at the gap between how adults understand Gen Z and how Gen Z experiences the world from the inside.

She writes from her generation, not about it.

Growing up. Speaking up. Figuring it out.
