Greetings, fellow content creators!
Today, I would like to share with you the process of enabling monetization on YouTube.
Let's delve into what it entails and the conditions you need to meet for your channel and videos.
What is YouTube Monetization?
Monetization is the official way of earning money on YouTube.
It involves displaying contextual ads during the playback of your videos.
In simple terms, these are various types of ads that appear at different places on the video hosting site when you watch someone's video.
You may have encountered ads at the beginning of a video, with a "Skip Ads" or "Video Playback Will Start in 5 Seconds" button.
Advertisers pay for conversions from viewers who watch your videos and engage with these ads.
The cost per click (CPC) varies based on multiple factors and can range from a few cents to several hundred dollars.
There are two types of monetization connections:
- Monetization through the Google AdSense advertising network, which is a requirement for all new channels, as YouTube verifies certain conditions for connection. We will discuss this in detail below.
- Once your channel passes YouTube's moderation for monetization connection, you can also connect to private advertising networks, known as YouTube affiliate networks (link provided later).
Conditions for Monetization
To be eligible for monetization, your channel must comply with YouTube's community rules and have at least 10,000 views.
