With a lot of peope asking, at every corner, about NAM A2 compatibility and my testing of the new Two notes Genome & Capture Studio, why not comparing NAM A2, Tonex and Hotone SoundClones in a "real world" kind of scenario ? =^.^=
Do accuracy & null test really matters ?
Is this really better than that ?
Do we really need NAM as Hotone users ?
What if we will find out togheter ? =^.^=
The same amp, at the same setting, captured as NAM A2 (with Two Notes Capture Studio) , Tonex and native Hotone SoundClones.
NAM A2 captures and Tonex captures share the same audio interface (Audient ID14) and Reamp box (Lehle P-Split) at the very same settings & levels.
Hotone SoundClones were recorded using an Ampero 2 Stomp.
Let's start with having a talk about times, something that is not being talked /considered enough (imho).
How much it takes to make a capture ?
Hotone SoundClones : around 5 min
Tonex (recording & advanced training ) : around 20 min (on my pc)
NAM A2 400 Epo (to keep time "similar" to Tonex) : around 30 min (on my pc with Two Notes Capture Studio)
No matter "who's the best" (if any =^.^=) , but what the Hotone can do with native SoundClones in just 5 minutes, recording without the need of a PC nor Nerual Networks, is outstanding to me.
Let's talk about how do they sound now....or not, better, check it out by yourself ! =^.^=
Here's is a "Sound Only" video about them. Everything was left to default settings. No Eq, no levelling, nothing !
A true real life scenario....you recorded a new capture (or you downloaded a new one), you load it in your player and you check how it sound. =^.^=
Much better than a null test =^.^=
This video is just a preview; you could probably agree with me all of them sounds very good. The minimal sonic differences between them can easily be fixed just by turning the knobs a little bit, or adding pedals and fx to the chain.
Let's not forget we're just comparing a "basic" amp+cab sound at default settings.
As soon we move the knobs and/or we add pedals and FX, all the "accuracy race madness" doesn't make any sense anymore. =^.^=
But you don't have to belive me, same way you should not belive null tests.
Judging by yourself and relying on your own hearing (and fingers) is the right approach. =^.^=
