You're in Survival Mode: Day 1 of Soft Life Reset (Free Sample)

I'm giving you Day 1 of Soft Life Reset for free.

This is the exact first chapter of my 14 day guided workbook for exiting survival mode.

Read it slowly. If it finds you, the other 13 days are waiting.

Day 1: You're in survival mode

For years I had confused survival as strength. I glorified being the strong one, the one who survived many obstacles. I took pride in saying, "If you were in my shoes, you wouldn't be able to sustain what I've been through." I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not diminishing my experiences, the pain, or the anguish I've been through. The truth is, I was strong for too long, my body was in panic mode for too long; my nervous system was dysregulated for too long. We were not meant to be in fight mode for too long. You see, my trauma created layers of protection and my brain was only doing what it thought was needed to make sure I was guarded. Unfortunately that protection became poison. My body could no longer function properly.

Yet, I became the one always holding everything together, the one always giving, the one pushing through life as if my body wasn't crying for peace. In reality, I prayed for peace, I yearned for peace, I longed for true rest. However I didn't know how to stop, or how to get my brain to stop. But not a day would go by that I didn't crave for a life where I wasn't constantly on fight mode.

Truth: Survival mode feels like panic and constant pressure with no end in sight.

Shift: Today is not about fixing anything, today is about taking a step back, and noticing how you're moving through the motions of life.

Action: Pay attention to how you feel today, your actions, and whether you're constantly overworking yourself.

Time to reflect

What emotions came up for me today?

Where did I ignore myself today?

If I chose peace instead what would I have done differently?

What's one small thing I can do better tomorrow?

Affirmation: I don't have to push through everything to be okay

That was Day 1.

There are 13 more days where that came from, plus the bonus chapter on the weight my body was holding. Each day has a short reading like this one, a truth, a shift, one small action, and space to write it all out.
