Today we have received credible information regarding the upcoming NDC26 event from Neon which is set for the 25th of May 2026.
Currently, Neon's OS's are dreamOS 4, tabOS 4, rubyOS 4 etc, but we are expecting a different naming scheme going forward.
This May 25th the next generation of Neon's software will be announced and they will be called:
-dreamOS 27
-rubyOS 27
-tabOS 27
-timeOS 27
-spatialOS 27
& mediaOS 27
This pivot is set to more closely align to apple's new operating system naming scheme which takes the number from the upcoming year.
The OS is codenamed "sapphire" and is expected to debut a new frosted glass look which absorbs and scatters light, unlike Apple's Liquid Glass which refracts it. This new design will debut across all new OS 27 Versions from Neon in 10 days time.
