Vividian vPhone V Flip 1 - VVVery Good.

The Vividian vPhone V Flip 1 is the brands first clamshell foldable device, starting at $849. Now, is it a good phone? Lets delve in...

MATERIALS:

The interior screen is a plastic foldable panel - nothing marvellous or premium compared to UTG but its certainly not the absolute worst. However, the V Flip 1 boasts gorgeous stainless steel sides and a matte glass back.

Score: 66/100

BATTERY:

Nothing impressive here but it is a folding phone. It has a 3896mAh battery with 19 hours of video playback on the inner display but 36 on the outer screen - So, if you are an avid outer display user you should easily cruise through a days or more's worth of content.

Score: 79/100

DISPLAY:

The bit of the phone you'll use the most! The V Flip 1 has a 120Hz LTPO OLED 1300p display which is pretty damn decent for the price tag. The outer display is only 90Hz though, but that drop in refresh rate was not really noticed in our testing. Best part is, both displays have an Anti-reflective coating!!

Score: 89/100

SOFTWARE:

Pure, bliss stock Android, very inoffensive

Score: 85/100

DESIGN:

Design is a personal preference but I find the design to be rather pleasing. The phone has decently thin bezels on each display and the 2 cameras are neatly nestled above the rear display in the top left. The only complaint we have on this design is that the phone is quite wide.

Score: 80/100

COLOURS:

The Vividian vPhone V Flip 1 comes in Midnight, Silver and Void Black, all gorgeous colours but all very similar. We especially like the Midnight colourway here.

Score: 67/100

CAMERA:

The vPhone V Flip 1 sports 2 rear cameras, a 48MP 25x upscaled zoom camera which uses AI to make its zoom shots quite impressive and also a 16MP 0.5x Ultrawide. It also has a 24MP selfie cam with up to 5x digital zoom. This whole camera system is also engineered with the infamous Leima camera company, so your photos should be fab!

Score: 87/100

STORAGE:

256GB, 512GB, 1TB

Score: 100/100

VALUE AND PRICE:

The price for this device is $849 as mentioned earlier and considering it's a flip phone - That's a pretty good deal!!

Score: 82/100

So, is the Vividian vPhone V Flip 1 a good phone? Based on our initial delve, the answer appears to be a yes, with some caveats. We found the display pretty damn decent, the stock Android a bliss, and the design rather pleasing (though perhaps they really, really liked the letter 'V' when naming it!). The Leima-engineered camera system also promises to deliver fab photos, and the storage options are fantastic. Considering it's a flip phone, the $849 price tag feels like a pretty good deal! However, the battery is nothing impressive, and the plastic interior screen isn't the most premium. Ultimately, for the price, we think the V Flip 1 offers a compelling entry into the foldable market, especially for those prioritizing stock Android and value.
