Do we hate Christ or Christianity?

Most Pagans today have really strong negative feelings about Christianity. I do not need to say much about it, since every single one of you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But, let’s pause for a moment and ask ourselves:

Do we hate Christ or Christianity?

The simplicity of this question carries a really heavy weight.

Who was Christ? What is Christianity? What really connects the two… other than the name, of course.

Other than Pagans, Christians killed, hanged and burned fellow Christians for centuries. Actually, when it comes to numbers, the Christian victims were far more than the Pagan ones. Christianity actually started with the massacre of fellow Christians, right after the First Council of Nicaea (AD 325), where the first basic dogma of the Christian religion where placed. All Christians that disagreed with that first basic dogma, were killed. And they were many thousands.

If Christ was alive at that time, what do you think he would do or say? Would he allow it?

Do you remember what Christ said when asked what the most important thing is? The so called “Golden Rule”? Wasn’t his answer: “treat others as you would want them to treat you”?

How about violence? Did Christ ever taught pro-violence or did he teach “turn the other cheek” and “Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword”.

…And what about that other story about the good Samaritan?

I can go on and on and on… But I won’t.

I will only ask again: Do we hate Christ or Christianity?

And, how sure are we that we really do understand the difference?

Blessed Be.
