So… totem animals! Easy to get, right? Just pick a cool one (a wolf preferably), and ready you are… yes?
Well, sorry, but… NO!
For the last 20+ years, 8 out of 10 baby witches I talked totems with, they claim they have a wolf as a totem… What are the odds, right?!
Of course, after a couple follow-up questions, it turns out that they haven’t even met their totem animal yet.
So, here are a couple of tips for anyone who is in true search of their totem:
1) You don’t get to choose! The totem chooses you. This is #1 advice. Chances are, you won’t even like your first totem (yeah, you get more than just one in a lifetime).
2) If you haven’t been through the Crystal Cave at least 3 times, you don’t have a totem yet.
3) If, the first time you meet your totem, is a fully grown animal and not a baby… it’s not your totem.
4) If, the first time you meet, you don’t hug to the point you become one… it’s not your totem.
5) If you don’t know it’s name OR can pronounce it’s name… it’s not your totem.
6) If it doesn’t shock you to your very core the moment you become one… it’s not your totem.
7) Check your sources to make sure you have the correct process.
8) This is probably the most important tip: your totem is a combination of what you are and what you need to be. Once you evolve to what you need to be, your totem will change to the "next step". You will feel the need for the change.
And, as always, it’s pointless to lie to yourself about all this.
The Path of the Wise is not easy! It’s hard and painful and needs allot of persistence and patience and practice. If anyone tells you otherwise, s/he is lying.
