“He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.”
— Psalm 18:16–19 (KJV)
Read that again. HE DREW ME OUT. 🔥
Not because the waters were shallow. Not because the enemy was weak. Not because I had enough strength to save myself.
But because HE DELIGHTED IN ME.
Some of us know what it's like to be in waters so deep that we can't find the surface. Drowning in fear, battling things nobody sees, carrying burdens we were never meant to carry alone.
But look at what David said. He didn't say he climbed out. He didn't say he fought his way to safety.
GOD REACHED DOWN.
And somebody needs to hear this today:
You don't have to be strong enough to overcome what you're facing. You need to know the One who is stronger than what you're facing.
Stop trying to rescue yourself from waters that require the hand of God.
Surrender. Cry out. Trust Him.
And when He brings you out, don't forget the hand that reached into the depths to pull you up.
The same God who drew David out of deep waters is still our refuge today.
The waters may be deep, but His reach is deeper.
