What Is Surface Pattern Design?

What are you wearing?

That question is often loaded with innuendo, but not today. Seriously, look down at your clothes. Are you wearing stripes, polka-dots, flowers, or perhaps tiny cats on roller skates? Now, look around your home. Are your curtains flowing with flowers? Are your walls covered in wallpaper? What about the wrapping paper you used last Christmas or the dinnerware in your cabinets?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, thank a surface pattern designer. They are the ones who bring bold colors, delicate florals, intricate geometrics & so much more into our daily lives. In fact, we see so many patterns every day that we often take them for granted but at the same time we can't imagine our lives without them.

Here are some of my favorite patterns.

If you've been looking around the site there's a good chance you've come upon my about page and discovered I do more than just scrapbook and research my family tree. In fact, many of the designs and patterns you see in my digital downloads can be found on a wide variety of products in my Spoonflower, Society6, & RedBubble shops. Scroll down beneath my bio for the links and check them out sometime.
