..the world needs your passion

Special memories from us in the month of March.

I would like to share some of them the with you, just like the way a school child shared this photo with me and asked me, if I could teach her how to talk to frogs.

Can you yourself talk to a frog, or I will also have to share my secrets with you?

When we decided to read out some of the stories in our Story book. Three semi-circles built up an audience of more than 50 curious young minds.

A big class right?

Our first reading session kicked off after one of them led us in a prayer.

We prayed for everything,

Their parents,

The food they had eaten,

The teachers that keep them happy,

Someone had already leaked, that I would be sharing about animals from Lake Victoria, we prayed for the food the fish eat, the medicine they need when they fall sick and peace amongst all the animals on the Lake.

My heart was relieved, by the time I started reading A frog with a gun,

Silence, and eyes pieced my heart yearning to know what was happening to the animals on Lake Victoria. I didn’t include big words like pollution, poor disposal management, sedimentation or unsustainable human activities.

We talked about a frog that wanted to be famous!

A frog with 100s of different versions of itself all over the world.

Some living in trees, others under leaves, some in water, others in ponds and rivers.

This frog was scared,

And it worried these school children.

They wanted to hear more of the stories of the animals on Lake Victoria.

This is why completing “Chali’s Adventures On Lake Victoria’ and making sure school children across Uganda’s schools read it, is so important to me.

While growing,

We want to learn.

These children want to learn, help me gift a conservation learning tool with biodiversity knowledge in the hands of children south of the Sahara.
