Four years ago I made a treetop angel from my mom's wedding dress.
This year I made one for my daughter.
Mine is made with the jacket from the dress. The jacket pieces were large enough to cut the dress and wings in one piece. The dress itself had no pieces that large. I centered the skirt and wings over the satin and across the lace. I hoped Cari wouldn't mind those seams.
As it turns out, it is beautiful! Now mine looks so plain. I will be adding lace to mine somehow!
Now onto the binding on my Island Batik Spring/Summer 2024 quilt--sorry! No pictures yet!
