I made some tiny quilts, using some of Northcott's the Lion and the Lamb collection. I didn't have enough of the fabric for the binding that I wanted to use. What I had enough of, I didn't like. I knew there are methods of using two colors, so I searched.
The directions I found used 1.75" for the color I wanted to use--saving .75" wasn't going to work. I kept searching and found one that used just a narrow strip for the color I had. That would work.
I didn't bother to check what sizes I needed. I tried several different combinations and finally found the look I wanted. What I ended up with was .75" and 2.5", and noticed later that this is not the sizes given.
I'm not sure that I'll ever do it again. When you have such a small section, a little bit off is very noticeable! It took some putzing to get it as good as it is.
It's not actually a flange since there is no loose edge.
Now it's time to start on my Easter bread.
Happy Easter!
