Some time ago, I saw/read/heard about serging the edge of a quilt before attaching the binding. Late last year I tried it, but didn't like or dislike it. I tried it again last month and decided I DO like it. There are no loose threads at the edge to either clip or tuck in.
I did it again today when I was ready to finish up on my Spring/Summer 2024 quilt.
It takes a few extra minutes, but I like how it cleans up the edges of the quilt.
It's not necessary to go right on the edge, 
I simply took care to not trim off any of the edge of the quilt. Some of the stitches hung over the edge, but that's okay.
Now to glue baste and topstitch it down...tomorrow!
