I am slowly regaining my motivation to engage in creative things again. I did write a little bit in my third book, I had a moment well several of thinking why am I bothering to do any of it as no one seems to be interested that is a lie though there are a few people who read my blog and a few that like my stories or reels on Instagram. Since lockdown I have really struggled with life I get mad at myself for not making use of the opportunity that the government gave me to sort my life out during that period. The past is in the past though and the only time we have is now so I really should be making the most of it.
The cat and kittens have taken up a lot of my time dealing with worms (I know sorry the thought is gross) I am constantly cleaning thoroughly. Missie the mum cat was spayed last week my empathy kicked in thinking how she must feel and today the first of her kittens Willow who turned out to be a boy when chipped has gone to his forever home. Willow is the sweetest of the kittens, very loving, when his mum came home he went straight to her giving her love and affection where as the ginger twins were awful to her. I have given her some chicken today and lots of love I know it doesn't compensate for losing her boy, but I don't know what else I can do. I almost said yes to fostering another two kittens today, but my eldest son does need his room back really and they can't be downstairs with the plants. I love animals, but I love our plants and it has been a mission trying to teach them not to attack or eat them because many of them are toxic to pets. Dealing with fleas and worms did make me research all about the plants that repel fleas, there are many Lavender, sage. eucalyptus, rosemary, oregano, thyme, mint, lemon balm, citronella, marigold, chrysanthemum and the Fleabane daisy. I also got eaten by a tick that was very unpleasant and I felt really unwell for several days with headaches and a fever. Seem to be all ok again now thankfully, I am covered in kitten scratches they seem to think that they can climb up my legs. I think now I am a crazy cat and plant lady my dating days are definitely over lol.
Lidl have a cracking deal at the minute they are selling miniature rose bushes for just £2.49 so three different coloured ones jumped into my trolley on three separate occasions. Who knew that roses could jump? Lol
I had a night where I had the need to fill some glass containers I had been given the other night and I used shells to decorate them. One has a gothic theme as I put a skull shot glass in (I can't seem to take a decent picture to show it) it using dark coloured shells, the cathedral window haworthia that's in there has doubled in size in a week so I think it liked what we did. The picture is of another one that we did, I think it's art, but using plants and I think it looks cool. I did two others in bowl shaped glass and another one that I think would be cool if I had different coloured sand. As they don't seem to be selling I think that buying the sand would be a waste of money so I haven't ordered any.
A few weeks ago I went to a plant stock that the bearded plantholic kindly put on there was so many plant lovers there so that was really nice. I had no idea that there was so many of us around, I met with someone who I consider a friend there so that was nice. Not sure how my car made it there and back, but it did luckily. I did purchase a fig tree cutting, which is something I have wanted for about two years it was a steal at £15 it actually cost me £115 though as I got a speeding ticket on a country lane. If you ask my boys I never speed or rarely I didn't think I was on that day either as I was doing 54 turns out it is a 40mph road so yeah I was speeding lol I was rather annoyed as I plucked up the courage to go and then that happened. I kind of think that the police are harsh sitting on country roads catching unsuspected people and fining them guess it's a good way to make money though. I still feel they should be fighting real crime not on country roads catching people speeding.
I pulled my first pints the other night, the place I work doing admin said I could do some shifts behind the bar on occasion so that is pretty cool. I don't know if you remember I think it was the nineties where a lady was serving beer from an ice cream truck and she asked if they wanted to have a flake with that love in a Northern accent, well I have always wanted to say that and that night I did. I also said "get out of my pub" in a London accent like Peggy Mitchell apparently I have the power to actually kick people out being the administrator of the club so I felt hard knowing that lol. The Committee of the club are all nice people so that is a treat after my previous work life and the job is pretty easy I compiled a list of ways that they could make more money or increase memberships and presented it at the last Committee meeting, the guy in charge of the entertainment told me that there was some really good ideas so that pleased me and the President said I wasn't just a pretty face (not sure what he sees). I am also applying for a government grant for the building as it is a heritage building it was once home to the shortest reigning prime minister until Liz Truss took the title away from the poor bloke. It's actually a Conservative club get me involved in a government thing again well the previous government anyway now that Labour are in. I don't care for politics again in my humble opinion they are all the same and will all screw us over one way or another. I personally think we need decent leaders who aren't all about money or are corrupt, which many of them are.
I purchased a plastic greenhouse to set up indoors using the grow lights that my Mum kindly got for me and you will not believe how quickly the plants grow using them they truly are amazing. I have met a couple of plant lovers recently, which always raises my spirits and I intend to join a club so that I can meet with fellow plant enthusiasts regularly. I do need to venture out more and I have really wanted to go on adventures lately just to be able to live a bit more I really want to live again and not just survive. Anyway I best stop writing I do go on don't I? I hope that you are all well.
