About Me

I’m Joanne, a writer, gardener, and eco‑creative who spent a lifetime being underestimated. I grew up surrounded by low expectations, constant put‑downs, bullying, and exclusion. I’ve experienced homelessness and the kind of instability that forces you to rebuild yourself from the ground up.

For years, I carried other people’s projections that I wasn’t capable, wasn’t worthy, wasn’t meant for much. Nature taught me otherwise.

In the garden, everything grows toward the light, no matter how many times it’s been cut back. That’s how I rebuilt myself through soil, seasons, and the slow work of tending what I wanted to become.

Today, I create spaces where others can reconnect with their own resilience and nature. If you’ve ever been told you’re “too much” or “not enough,” you’ll feel at home here.

A Journey of Healing and Awakening

What began as a quiet healing journey through houseplants eventually blossomed into something much deeper: a way to rebuild myself.

Caring for living things became a way of caring for myself. Each new leaf felt like proof that growth was still possible, even after being cut back again and again.

From that small beginning, a passion for gardening and natural living emerged, one that restores, uplifts, and honours the rhythms of nature. I learned to create spaces that heal rather than harm, free from pesticides, shortcuts, or anything that disconnects us from the earth, and as I grew, something else became clear:

People like me, empaths, sensitives, the ones who feel deeply, are often the ones life tries hardest to break.

After a lifetime of being bullied, excluded, dismissed, and emotionally drained by others, I created a course specifically for empaths who are ready to take their power back.

It’s a space for those who have been silenced, overlooked, or used for their kindness, a place to reclaim boundaries, energy, and self-worth, because healing isn’t just about plants or gardens. It’s about learning to root yourself so deeply that no storm can pull you out of the ground again.

Whether you’re growing herbs on your windowsill, tending a full outdoor oasis, or rebuilding your inner landscape, this space is for you, a place to reconnect with nature, with yourself, and with the resilience you’ve carried all along.

Why This Work Matters

Our gardens and our homes should mirror our values.

Sustainability, beauty, and healing aren’t luxuries; they’re necessities.

Plantlife Joy is about cultivating spaces where both plants and people can thrive. Together, we’re building a community that nurtures itself, the planet, and all who live upon it, while reclaiming our own power.
