Time

I didn’t realise that it had been three weeks since my last blog. I have been completely consumed with work and volunteering. My work kindly gave me extra hours, and I have been doing the odd bar shift at work too. It was always one of the things that I wanted to do—pull a pint—and now I can. There is actually a lot to being a bar person. I don’t think it should be minimum pay, if I am honest, like lots of the jobs that are minimum pay. There is so much wrong with this world; luckily, plants are not one of those things.

I am thoroughly enjoying being part of a collective of people who are fighting for good changes in the world. Plotspot, if you haven’t heard of it, is a great initiative. It is connecting people to land that others have but don’t use. You can pay to rent the land to grow your own food. It is also connecting lots of people who feel the same about the corrupt world that we are living in. It’s good to know that decent people who care about both the planet and humanity still exist.

Plant-wise, we have been propagating a lot of our plants, ready to hopefully sell in the near future. We have also been learning a lot from expert gardeners at the gardening club. Their knowledge is incredible, and they are all lovely people who are fortunately kind. The world definitely needs more kindness; it has been lacking in it since the pandemic.

It’s a shame that people have fallen for the divide and conquer tactics and that people feel the need to protect such a cruel system. There is light at the end of the tunnel, though, as I think people are slowly waking up to the reality. I was going on a trip tomorrow to see the beautiful rose gardens at David Austin’s Roses, but I have decided against it. Instead, I intend to do things that I really should be doing to aid my growth and to hopefully make my boys proud of me.

I hope that you are well and, if you’re in the UK, that you aren’t affected by the flooding. I don't know about you, but I already miss the bees, butterflies, and sunshine. The tree leaves are the beauty in nature right now, and another reminder of its resilience.
