Time to get in full swing in the garden

We have been dead heading the flowers that we do have in our garden and trimming back herbs cutting off any brown foliage so that the fresh new growth can make its way through. We also re-potted a miniature rose that spent its first winter outside and survived, last year we only had one rose appear so we are hoping that with the added bonus of the mycorrhizal fungi that Mr Plant Geek sent to me we will have a full bloom. Apparently the fungi works by infecting the roots of the plant forming a relationship where the fungi will take away sugars and carbon returning water and nutrients to the plants. It works well with woody plants so I'm hoping that a perfect relationship if formed and that we get a lot more flowers this year. I have always struggled with roses where as both of my grandads were amazing rose growers so I need to tap into their knowledge. I would absolutely love to have a garden big enough to have a rose garden like both my grandads did. Ooooo that made me reminisce back to my childhood, my favourite place in the world was in my grandad's garden. I miss the scents and sights that his garden offered me I would sit writing poems about the nature that I could see/smell, the flowers, the colours and the vegetables.

We have been planting since last Autumn plants that we grew from seed last year into a bit of the close that we live in that was unused. It was covered with stones, someone thought the stones were going free and stole them revealing soil so I thought I'm going to plant the plants that I grow from seed there. Yesterday we added two things that we didn't grow from seed a Euphorbia as it was in a pot in our garden and clearly wanted to be planted into the ground with all of its flowers on display and a white carnation. It doesn't look great right now, but it will when it is in full bloom so I will share a picture then.

We have a number of flower seedlings on the go, we are getting increasingly frustrated as we want to sow so many more seeds, but we do not have the room to do so. It's so annoying when you want to do things and can't. Hope your life is not as frustrating as mine appears to be. One thing that isn't frustrating is that the houseplants are coming back to life as they do every spring, but it is such a delight after a dark and droll winter.
