Hello, I’m Joanne, the heart behind Plantlife Joy.

From as early as I can remember, I found comfort in nature’s quiet language, the way flowers turn toward the sun, the resilience of trees weathering every storm, and the gentle symbolism hidden in every leaf and bird song. Those moments became my refuge in a world that didn’t always feel kind or safe.

My path has been far from easy. I grew up feeling unseen and unworthy, carrying the weight of words that didn’t belong to me. I endured bullying, exclusion, violence, loss, and heartbreak. I faced illness, homelessness, and moments of darkness where I almost gave up. There were seasons where the darkness felt overwhelming, but even then, nature kept calling me home.

I began tending small patches of green, an allotment, a growing collection of houseplants, and slowly, something shifted. I realised that in nurturing plants and nature, I was also nurturing myself.

The patience of the earth, the renewal of each season, the strength found in soft things, they taught me more about healing than any textbook ever could.

Now, everything I create on my membership site, through my courses, art, books, and writings, grows from that same soil of transformation. Plantlife Joy is my way of offering others what nature offered me: steadiness, remembrance, and a path back to wholeness.

No matter how lost, broken, or disconnected you feel, nature will always welcome you back, and within you lives a quiet, immense power, the power to heal, evolve, and thrive in harmony with the world around you.
