Donkeys show up in Scripture more often than most of us notice. Abraham's donkey waited at the foot of the mountain. Balaam's donkey saw an angel that her rider could not. Abigail rode a donkey to bring peace to an angry man. And the King himself chose a donkey for his entrance into Jerusalem.
That is why a talking donkey named Akiroro tells stories here. He is an old, patient, dry-humored animal with a long memory, who says donkeys have always been the ones who carry the load and notice what busy people miss.
This Advent, Akiroro walks the road to Bethlehem in a 25-day devotional for families, classrooms and small groups. Each day takes about ten minutes. You read a short story from Scripture, talk over one question, and do one small thing together.
A quick honesty note: the Gospels do not say that a donkey carried Mary to Bethlehem. That picture comes from later tradition. Where Akiroro imagines it, he is storytelling and says so.
Advent begins on Sunday, November 29, 2026. You can try the first three days free: https://payhip.com/b/w4zu7
