When I’m Not Creating, I’m…

When I’m Not Creating, I’m…

As someone who pours my heart into creativity—whether it’s designing journals, crafting greeting cards, or teaching others how to make their own meaningful works—there’s a beautiful rhythm to my life. But what happens when I step away from the drawing board, the binding machine, or my trusty Epson ET-8500 printer? Those moments are just as meaningful, shaping who I am and what I bring back to my creative work.

Coaching Women to Rediscover Themselves

One of my greatest joys is coaching women who are navigating life’s challenges. As a certified Life Breakthrough Coach, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside women, many over 40, as they work to reclaim their identities, rediscover their strengths, and embrace the beauty of their stories.

I know what it’s like to face profound loss and trauma, and I’ve learned that healing is possible when we allow ourselves to reset—by design. Through one-on-one coaching and group sessions, I encourage women to reflect, reframe, and rebuild. Sometimes, it’s about helping someone reimagine their goals after a setback. Other times, it’s about simply holding space for their pain while gently guiding them toward hope.

The women I coach often inspire me. Their resilience, courage, and determination to move forward despite the odds fuel my creativity and remind me of the importance of creating tools, like journals, that encourage healing and self-expression.

Nourishing My Soul Through Self-Care

Coaching and creating can be emotionally intense, so I prioritize self-care as a way to restore my energy. When I’m not immersed in projects or working with clients, I’m journaling my thoughts, layering my favorite Sand & Fog Pistachio Dream oil with lotion, or savoring the peace of a quiet evening surrounded by my candles and plants. These small rituals remind me to slow down and recharge, helping me reconnect with my purpose so I can show up fully for myself and others.

Gathering Inspiration From Everyday Moments

Whether I’m experimenting with a new recipe, like lemon pepper wings in the air fryer, or hosting dinner with close friends, these moments fill my cup and fuel my imagination. Everyday life—sharing meals, enjoying conversations, or observing the colors of nature—sparks ideas that often find their way into my designs or coaching sessions. Even the simple act of balancing flavors in the kitchen mirrors the creativity and harmony I strive to bring into both my work and relationships.

Supporting Others Through Connection and Growth

At the heart of everything I do is a deep desire to support others. In addition to coaching, I’ve built a community in my Facebook group, Reset: Move Forward, where women who have experienced trauma or major loss can find encouragement and understanding. This group is a safe space where journaling, affirmations, and self-expression are tools for healing.

The connection doesn’t end there. Through workshops, courses, and challenges, I guide women in learning new skills—like creating greeting cards or developing habits of reflection and gratitude—that empower them to reclaim their creativity and confidence. These moments of teaching and connecting remind me that creativity is not just about making beautiful things; it’s about making space for healing, joy, and resilience.

Learning and Dreaming

Every project and coaching session begins with a spark of curiosity. So when I’m not creating or coaching, I’m learning something new. It could be exploring how to use UV DTF to enhance my designs, researching how to set up an ICC profile for my printer, or brainstorming fresh ideas for my YouTube channel. These moments of exploration not only excite me but also keep me on my toes as an entrepreneur and guide.

Making Space for Gratitude

Finally, when I step away from creating and coaching, I take time to reflect. Whether it’s journaling about the day or simply sitting in silence with a cup of ginger tea, I allow myself to feel grateful. Grateful for the ability to express myself through art, for the women who trust me to guide and inspire them, and for the opportunity to bring beauty into the world, one journal, card, or breakthrough moment at a time.

So, when I’m not creating or coaching, I’m still cultivating creativity in other ways. Whether through connection, self-care, or simply being present, these moments remind me why I do what I do—and why it’s so important to keep showing up.
