How a Single Wallcovering Sparked an Entire Room Design: Inspired by Sarza

As a design stylist, I often find that one standout element can set the tone for an entire space. In this case, it was the vibrant, story-rich wallpaper from Saza Store that became the catalyst for this e-design rendering- a bold, welcoming living room concept that’s rooted in texture, craftsmanship, and a connection to culture.

Sarza Store, located in the High Point Market, is more than just a home goods boutique. Their curated collections feature contemporary African design with deep ties to sustainability, storytelling, and skilled craftsmanship. Many of their pieces- including this showstopping wallpaper- are sourced from South Africa, reflecting the heritage of Sarza’s founder and the country’s flourishing community of artisans.

What drew me to this wallpaper wasn’t just the color or pattern- it was the feeling. There’s unmistakable energy in the hand-drawn botanicals, layered textures, and expressive palette. It gave this space an instant soul. From there, I layered in cozy modern seating, tactile materials like woven baskets and rattan, and an earthy mix of greens and neutrals to create a calming yet character-rich environment.

The resulting space is light, grounded, and refreshingly global, anchored by that single Sarza wallcovering, which tells its own story while allowing the rest of the design to unfold naturally around it.

This rendering isn’t just a style exercise- it’s about intentional design, rooted in a desire to work with brands who celebrate quality, heritage, and artistry. I look forward to reaching out to the Sarza Store to share this project and explore future opportunities for collaboration and sponsored content.

Stay tuned- I believe in designing with purpose, and this is only the beginning.
