I have seen many different types of employees in my HR career. Some employees are hardworking, some are lazy and do the minimal, while plenty others go above and beyond. But my favorite type was the solution providers. These individuals rarely complain and when there are problems, they always offer creative and innovative solutions.
I truly do believe that companies should focus heavily on hiring solution providers and job seekers should clearly demonstrate what problems they helped solve at their previous positions during the recruitment process.
Many people tend to just to bring up a problem in a meeting (There is nothing wrong with this!). But employees and managers alike should never sound like they are complaining. Rather brainstorm and come up with ideas on how you can solve it!
Employees who think outside the box and provide executable solutions were often the ones that get promoted or receive a pay raise. They are the ones who are appreciated by their bosses because their solutions tend to bring positive affect the entire group, department, or company.
So, next time you see a problem, be the first one to suggest multiple ideas. It's important that you present your ideas professionally and to the correct personnel so they can understand what you're suggesting.
Good luck everyone!
