About Me
Hello, I'm Courtney MacVicar, BKin, DOMP (MOMSc), MAHSc.
I am an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with more than 10 years of clinical experience working with infants, children, and families. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Brock University, a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice, and a Master of Applied Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting families through many stages of development, including family-centred pediatric care and experience within a pediatric rheumatology setting. My clinical interests include perinatal care, infant development, the mother–baby dyad, therapeutic alliance, and the ways in which early experiences shape lifelong health.
I am also a mother of two young children and a bonus parent to three more. My own experiences navigating parenthood, pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, feeding, sleep, and child development have deepened my appreciation for both the complexity and resilience of families. These experiences continue to inform my clinical work and reinforce the importance of approaching care through a lens of curiosity, compassion, and systems thinking.
Root & Sprout was created to bring together my clinical training, teaching experience, and lived experience as a parent and clinician. My goal is to help osteopaths and families better understand their relationship through a thoughtful, evidence-informed osteopathic lens, while providing practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life.
I am so glad you're here, and I look forward to learning alongside you.
