How I Crossed 10 Million Impressions in 90 Days (Spoiler : It’s Not Rocket Science!)

My Pinterest dashboard hit the incredible 10 million impressions mark.

I couldn’t help but do a happy dance around my living room.

Back then when I started off my Pinterest journey, I was the ultimate newbie.

Someone who has zero knowledge about any social media platform, how they actually work, how the analytics work, forget about the algorithm.

But you know what?

Despite the chaos and confusion, starting my Pinterest journey turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.

Although, I’ve tangled a number of problems which anyone would face yet I didn’t give up!

And cut to, here’re the magical results of being consistent.

Now, if you’re someone who isn’t familiar with Pinterest (which is actually a rare case) — it’s a visual search engine.

Millions of people visit this website to take inspiration, and it won’t be wrong if I say it’s the best and the ultimate source to drive free and organic traffic to your destination.

I myself drive a ton of organic traffic to my different stores using Pinterest.

So, as a token of happiness, I want to share the real deal — the beginner-friendly, no-nonsense guide using which YOU can also get the same results!

If you’re giving me the virtual nod of approval with a big, “HECK YES,” then let’s dive into the fun stuff!

1. Shut Up the Demon’s Voice

This is by far the most important mantra, no matter on which platform you’re starting.

The demon’s voice represents self-doubt, hesitation, or fear that may hinder your creative process.

  • What if it doesn’t work?

  • What if I put all my hard work and it doesn’t turn out the way I think it should?

  • How’ll I compete with that huge number of competitors?

And a hundred questions that arise in our minds, when we’re starting something fresh!

Let me take a moment and tell you that it’s completely OK to not know anything.

You can still succeed in anything you want.

Because learning isn’t limited to some elite class.

It’s the most incredible feature of being a human, that we can learn anything we want.

So, the first step in starting your journey is to switch off all the negativities and self-doubt voices that you may hear inside your mind.

And, as per my experience the best way to do so is to ACT.

Yes! You reduce the chance of procrastination to a large extent when you start acting on your decisions.

When I first started my journey, I didn’t see any gravity either. But I kept learning and executing what I’ve learnt.

And this is what consistently looks like!

As you can see, I’ve crossed 47 million impressions on my Pinterest account.

The average impression rate on a daily basis for my pins range from 60–120 K.

I think these visual proofs will give you a cheer up to take that first step.

2. Quantity over Quality

Wait, did I just say that?

I know, I know, everyone’s out there screaming, “Quality is king!”

And I do agree with the fact, but here’s the secret sauce for beginners — sometimes, quantity can be your trusty sidekick when you’re just starting out.

Let me explain this by giving an example.

Imagine this: You’re at the gym for the first time.

Are you going to bench-press a truckload on day one?

Nope! You start with a manageable weight, right?

Same goes for diving into the content game.

Pumping out more stuff in the beginning helps you flex those creative muscles and figure out what works.

In fact it also kind of conditioned your brain to delve into the nitty- gritties of everything.

I’ve created thousands of pins myself, and I’ve learned everything during my journey — How to design your pins, what keywords work, what type of title works the best and a number of things.

Here’s one of the first pins that I designed.

One of the First Pins I Designed

Cut to, around one and a half years later, I’ve created my own Pinterest templates bundle and here’s how it looks.

3. Follow the Tree Method

The tree method as I say it, is a simple yet most effective way to build your clan.

Have you noticed how a tree spreads its branches?

You’ve to do exactly the same for your content!

As you know, creating content and interacting with your potential audience go hand in hand.

Content and audience are the two sides of the same coin.

If you’ve more content, you can attract more audience and vice versa.

They’re completely interlinked.

Now, what you can do as a Pinterest creator, is go out and befriend other creators.

I know you won’t get that much positive feedback in the beginning, but if you stay consistent and keep working on your content, then gradually a time will come when people will come to you and ask for your collaboration.

One simple way of doing this on Pinterest is using group boards.

Group boards on Pinterest are like shared bulletin boards where a lot of creators add their favorite media or ideas, creating a mix of cool stuff.

When you join these boards, your pins get shared with more people, and you get to see what others are into.

Once you get the trust of your audience, you can start inviting people to join your group boards and they’ll be a part of your journey too!

4. Predict the Future

How can we predict the future?

It’s completely illogical!

I know you might be wondering about it.

But let me tell you one thing — It’s POSSIBLE.

You can predict the future “trends” on Pinterest.

To do this, you can use some of the tools provided by Pinterest and the best part is that they’re absolutely FREE!

These free tools are — Pinterest Trends and Pinterest Predicts.

Using Pinterest Trends, you can actually take a sneak peek into your target audience interests.

Next mind blowing tool is Pinterest Predicts.

Think of Pinterest Predicts as predictions by Pinterest experts about the topics, niches or content ideas that’ve the potential of going viral on the platform.

To use this tool, visit the site and apply relevant filters.

For example, let’s see what kinds of predictions are being done for the Kitchen decor.

This is what Pinterest Predicts states about the Kitchen decor.

Give it a try and be a futuristic creator!

5. Find your Super Tools

Tools are the real game-changers!

If you can find and use the perfect tools for your content, half of the battle is already won.

When you’re just beginning out, you won’t have the capital to invest in paid tools (I’m assuming so, if you’ve that’s great).

But you don’t need to worry, because in this digital world, you may get a ton of free tools that’ll help you kickstart your journey without putting a burden on your pocket.

You can use Canva to design your pins, Pinterest search bar to find keywords and analytics section to see what works for you or not.

So, wrapping it up – scoring 10 million impressions in 90 days isn't some crazy formula.

Just keep it real, stay consistent, and let your creativity shine.

You'll be hitting those big numbers soon! 🎉🚀

Happy Pinning!
