This is a poem I wrote many years ago when my children were still little and money was tight. That year for Christmas they received a ton of socks, and they weren't exactly excited about it.
Socks come in pairs - may you always have someone to share your life with.
Socks only have one hole - may you fill your socks with treasured things.
Socks are worn on your feet - may the heat from your toes always warm your heart.
Socks are woven from single threads - may you take that thread and create a great life for yourself.
Socks are worn to protect your feet - may you always be protected from harm's way.
Socks have elastic material - may you always stretch your mind, body, and soul to fit others into your life, but stay strong enough to keep yourself intact so you don’t lose sight of who you really are.
The legend of the sock represents all that life presents - may you always find love in your life and live a life full of love.
Merry Christmas,
Love, Mom
