Stepped into the lazy river, and within seconds—BAM! My trusty Havaiana flip flop was gone. Swept away by the current, off to live its best life somewhere in the Mekong. I fell behind, lost my friends, but gained a search party of German guys determined to find my lost sole.
Made it to the first bar, drowned my sorrows in a couple of big Beer Lao, and decided—if I can’t have two flip flops, I’ll have none. Yeeted the second one into oblivion. Barefoot, slightly tipsy, and fully committed to the river life, we floated on, stopping at three bars along the way. Lost a bottle of Soju, found it again. Lost a Beer Lao, dove for it, failed. Lost the will to dance by the final bar.
But chilling in a tube, staring at the mountains, and vibing with my Canadian and new German friends? 10/10, would do it all again (minus the flip flop casualties). 🩴
