The Concept of Time and Evolution

The Concept of Time and Evolution

Often people speak of timelines, when I think time is non-linear. The concept of time, as we refer to it, is nothing like the actual way time works. I know you know this, I know you are woke and the following information might be nothing new to you, yet, I still feel inclined to write it down, if only for me. Here’s to stuff no one will read;

The Red Queen Hypothesis — an evolutionary hypothesis

First question I had is why history repeats itself.

And does it? Or is the process of evolution ever slowly?

The Red Queen Hypothesis explains that in order for a species or population to survive, they must run fastest, only to stay in the same place, as this has so far proven to the species to be their best chance of survival. We act upon what we know, what has so far worked best, and we need to constantly evolve as a reaction to our environment. At the same time, every other species or population sharing the same environment as us, must react to this, and us, as well. We are all related, and as much as I used to support this hypothesis, my mind wanders off to different ideas when it comes to our future in terms of survival. I think we need to adapt this (already) ancient hypothesis.

50–20 years

I was born in 1985 in a hospital bed on the hottest day of the year and there was no air conditioning. We had a TV, a landline and as my father was working as a computer engineer, it didn’t take long before we owned a computer as well, which was mainly used for froggers, battle chess and Prince of Persia.

My father later on got a mobile phone for his work, but one that came with a case you carry around, in order to do anything with it.

I remember my grandparents talking about how they had nothing but running water and living without the use of electricity. At the point of telling me that, they must have been around the age of 50, meaning that within the time-span of 50 years, our technology evolved faster than our bodies evolving from fins to fingers.

We are now 20 years further down time and I now regularly receive texts and words with friends requests from my grandmother. The evolution of technology within 50 years was fast, but the evolution of it from the past 20 years was even faster. So in order for time to be a simple ‘line’, it must be consistent, because a flat line cannot imply speed, you cannot look at a simple drawn out line and mark where the line began to speed up, it’s impossible, thus time can never be linear.

Spiral

Then what is time, if not linear?

‘Time is a spiral, starting wide at the bottom, then gradually narrowing as it precedes towards the top.’

Kinda like a, let’s say Volcano. I like to use a volcano for this visual, as I have often wondered what would happen to time as soon as it would reach the top.

Where would it go? If time is an upward going spiral, narrowing, it must come to a point where it cannot go any further.

So, to make things easier for myself, in my mind time would at some point do nothing other than erupt at the top of the spiral. This is where my mind blanks, as the following theories are nothing but my imagination running fastest, only to stay in the same place, if only because it’s all I know within my human blueprint.

Dimensions

On a more spiritual note, I’d like to talk about the 5th dimension of consciousness. Evolution is literally the chicken and the egg, and in my mind evolution takes place on the body, as well as our astral beings, our souls.

Every part of us needs to evolve and the different dimensions we go through in order to survive, are all tiny volcanoes, spitting us from one straight into the next.

I was born in that ‘in between generation’, I see this when my Dutch 5 year old niece speaks better English than I do and explains to me how my iPhone works. She’s already further down the spiral, as most of our children are, because their brain structures are developed further than ours. I can see them struggle with their energy in a society that has yet to evolve into their new spiral, but this struggle is often called ‘mental illness’, because the diagnosis comes mainly from brains with an older structure. There are a few people in this world that were programmed to think on another level than it was born in and these people make all the difference in the world, as we know it.

As a child I was diagnosed with autism, because I got thrown around in energy cycles that constantly divided me. But this makes all the sense in the world to me. Evolution never goes without bumps and in order to get to that structure of consciousness, we need to go through different patches.

1.0, 2.0, Vista…

Now it’s no longer autism to me, it’s just me, and I like viewing it that way.

Half Crazy

When you take a closer look at mental illnesses, with Schizophrenia in particular, you can observe the struggle of evolution, and it is ongoing as we speak. I have spoken with doctors finding out anti-psychotics are slowly becoming useless on patients, as this process is on its way to evolve, creating a physical resistance. Am I against medication? Eh,… from a personal point of view; yes and no.

In the past I have been forced by my parents to be medicated for some time, but as soon as I had a say in this, I told them to never ever medicate me ever again, solely based on my experience of living like a zombie.

I was flat, so flat that I could not experience any real emotions anymore. What they mostly do is make you ‘normal looking’, when there were times within evolution we could not possibly ‘look normal’ in order to adapt.

I do however support short term medication IF it is in the combination of some form of psychotherapy. Yet nothing is guaranteed. Our minds are ever changing.

It is true that people suffering from mental illnesses can form a danger to themselves, as well as society and action must be taken in order to keep them or people around them safe.

But isn’t being human a risk on its own already?

Mental illness or not, we are a species that is capable of killing itself, and other species around us, without blinking twice.

We can experience exquisite pain and still wish it upon another, and we are society, we are our own greatest study object and we still often choose hate over love by whatever reason. I’ve seen people around me ‘go crazy’, when they had so far proven to be the most stable people I had ever met up to that particular point in their lives.

It is very common today, to be diagnosed with something, anything, that can explain certain behavior, but I think it’s a matter of time until we are all marked mentally ill, to an extent which makes it ‘look normal’ again.

We are evolving. In order for a caterpillar to become a butterfly, it must go through changes so painful, it needs to hibernate for it in a cocoon just to keep it safe.

I have seen patients in a straitjacket going through the same process, still not able to emerge from that.

Hell, there’s days where I feel my own cocoon, keeping me from danger, telling me to not give up.

Conclusion

I was thinking about time, but actually I was thinking about evolution.

Issues on a particular level, can never be solved from that same level, they need a higher level in order to be solved or improve.

Yet, here I am, knowing nothing, really, just guessing, wondering, imagining where we are going with this.

We fall so deep into technology that our eyes do not leave our mobile devices, making them bigger and our mouths smaller as we are going beyond the use of speak in order to communicate nowadays.

Are we getting ready for telepathy? And when do you know you are on the latest patch update of your human existence? When are we rocketed into the next spiral?

Why is it that we fly to Mars, yet there’s days where I cannot seem to fucking print a simple piece of paper?

I have recently learned that, in general, humans are capable of reprogramming 95% of their personality, formed by nurture, as well as nature.

I firmly believe in psycho analysis and psycho therapy treatment, if the majority of those parts of the brain is still capable enough to absorb.

But let’s be honest, our brain capacity is so much more than we are accustomed to use on a daily basis. Imagine your brain is space and it contains all these different solar systems within, yet, we are only living in one of them.

Sounds so familiar…

Fact is that with the right medical help we can rearrange our bodies to work better than they did. We have never grown this old in the history of mankind, still, our lives and behavior have not been exceptionally different from the ones we lived when we didn’t get older than 30, it’s just spread out differently.

We simply procrastinate more, because we have all this time, when in reality, we don’t.

Might you have read all my nonsense, tell me about your thoughts,

or go to sleep, or go back to work. There’s days where I just want to vent and go off about how significant and insignificant I am at the same damn time.

Anyway,

Time is non-linear, we need a new hypothesis.

I love you, the end.
