Hi,

My name is Iheanyi, and I’m the creator of Senzai-Teki—a comic I’m deeply passionate about and believe God placed on my heart to share.

In many ways, Senzai-Teki feels like a prophecy coming to life. As a kid, I was always drawing, creating unique characters, and imagining worlds for them to explore. My first comic, written in primary school, was a twist on the Avengers and the original Infinity Gauntlet story by Jim Starlin, complete with the page-flip gimmick from ‘Captain Underpants’. As I grew older, my passion for manga, comics, and anime pushed me to draw even more.

The idea for making my own comic came during lockdown, when a friend suggested I turn my original characters and art into a manga. It felt like the most natural next step—someone from this culture, with such a love for art, creating their own work. So, I began publishing chapters on Webtoon, finding moderate success and great feedback, experimenting with different mediums and looking for ways to improve. But something still felt missing.

After about 16 chapters, I realized I didn’t have a clear story or reason to keep going—and my art wasn’t where I wanted it to be. I took a break to develop the plot and characters, and during that time, I felt inspired to write the story of Senzai-Teki.

The reborn version of Senzai-Teki came from God speaking to me, my Christian journey, and a question I wanted to explore. I started writing and planning, drawing from my life and history, and taking inspiration from C.S. Lewis’ ‘Narnia’, ‘Fight Club’, Bleach, ‘X-Men’, ‘Moon Knight’, ‘Sentry’, and more. At the core was the central question that became the glue of the story: How does this relate to God, and what does He say about the question I am posing? And what do people think is the answer?

The journey was long, filled with many ups and downs, one massive restart, and plenty of mistakes I learned from. In the end, it resulted in a story I’m proud of and hope others will enjoy.
