Mafikeng, South Africa — 17 January 2025— Sista Bosso Magazine, a leading women-centric publication, is proud to announce the launch of "The Mjita Feature," a new section dedicated to highlighting men whose work actively supports, empowers, and uplifts women.
As a platform built by women, for women, Sista Bosso Magazine remains committed to addressing critical issues that disproportionately affect women globally, including period poverty, female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriages, and cultural barriers that deny girls access to education. Our feminism is rooted in fighting these injustices, not in opposing men.
We recognise and celebrate the men who stand beside women in challenging harmful practices and driving positive change. Whether through advocacy, mentorship, business, education, or creative industries, many men are using their influence to empower women and foster inclusive progress.
"The Mjita Feature" is a space to honor these men and amplify their stories. We believe in collaborative empowerment, and this initiative bridges the gap by showcasing how men contribute meaningfully to women’s advancement.
Call for Submissions:
Men who are actively making a difference in women’s lives are invited to share their stories. Interested individuals can send a WhatsApp message to 084 095 9593 with a brief introduction and an explanation of how their work impacts women.
Once selected, participants will receive interview questions via email and be asked to provide high-quality images that capture their work and impact.
"We’re excited to spotlight the men who are allies in this journey of empowerment," said Kabelo Vanessa Mablomo, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Sista Bosso Magazine. "Feminism is about equality and justice. It’s about dismantling barriers that harm women—not about opposing men. We know that many men are working alongside women to create a better, more inclusive world, and we want to celebrate that."
