While many are preparing for 4th of July Celebrations, others still are celebrating Juneteenth. What is Juneteenth? It is the belated celebration of the emancipation proclamation declared January 1, 1863. It's like the second Passover. You know. The one most don't really know about. That is until recently.
Never heard of Juneteenth? Many have not.
All Americans should know the date January 1, 1863 when people of color were declared free persons in America. African Americans’ call the evening before, New Year’s Eve (December 31) Watch Night.
They heard the rumor and prayerfully anticipated Abraham Lincoln’s declaration of Independence for people of color who had worked as indentured servants in America for centuries. However, many still had not heard about their freedom and continued to work on plantations. Plantation owners were determined to keep their workers ignorant for as long as they could.
It wasn’t until June 19, 1865 that thousands of people of color in the United States of America learned they were actually free. That’s right. It was two years after the declaration of their freedom took place!
Today, many have forgotten why their parents, mothers, aunties, grandmas and elders tarry at the alter on New Years Eve. It is a quiet commemoration to give thanks to God for their freedom. Their ancestors prayed at the altar of God in their makeshift cabins that nothing would stop the Hand of God from setting them free. It worked. Giving glory to God will never go out of style here at SoRichiam Media.
Please recall the same God told Moses and the twelve tribes of Israel that spring commenced the original New Year as he brought the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage and celebrated it as a permanent holiday called “Passover”. After that, many of the 12 tribes of Israel fell into bondage again in Babylon (USA) when they failed to keep the Ten Commandments they previously swore to keep in the New Promised Land. See Deuteronomy Chapter 28.
As a side note, there was a second Passover - by the way - thirty days after the first one for those who didn't qualify for whatever reasons the month before. And there will be yet another one during the Messianic Era much like a "great awakening". It seems to have already started.
While January 1 and June 19th (a.k.a. Juneteenth) commemorate freedom for people of color, many still are not aware that July 4th ended servitude to white slavery in America. That's right. The British (specifically king George II - a black man btw) sent criminals and people who couldn't pay their bills (debts) to what they called the new world, America. British slaves (mostly white) worked to pay off their debts in servitude while building America. Ironic. Isn't it?
Americans celebrate the Declaration of Independence, but no one really explains to them why. Independence from what?
They (a.k.a the political powers that be) say it's when Congress signed the Declaration of Independence. (the Constitution). But in truth, white British slaves were officially declared set free from servitude July 4th 1776 as they found even cheaper labor in people of color.
It wasn't immediate. It was a gradual process much like what happened to the ancient Hebrews in Egypt. There was a famine in the land. The Israelites went under the protection of their brother Joseph, then Viceroy (a.k.a Governor) of Egypt.
When the previous slaves dwindled in number because of the famine and stopped showing up to work, the overly gracious Israelites "filled in" to help. As time went by, the new Pharoah was oblivious to the Israelites "temporary private residency" commuting from nearby Goshen. They (the Israelites) were just expected to do what they had previously just volunteered to do. They felt indebted for all the help they received from Egypt during the famine years.
With high inflation and credit card interest rates (currently 20-30% in USA) we should all be cautious. Debt can be a form of slavery if not kept under control. More debt often requires more work just to sustain or pay it off. It can just spiral out of control if one is not cautious.
This is still another reason everyone needs good financial literacy. This is not currently taught in most American schools. I wonder why?
However, today most people do have online access to information. When technology is used correctly, it can help people discover what is true, their own history, and learn good financial literacy.
Anyone who chooses to do so can learn at their own rate in their own way. Unfortunately, most don't use it that way as yet. More often, they use the internet for entertainment purposes. What's the point?
Be vigilant. Read and educate yourself and your family between the entertainment. It will serve you better. It may even keep you and your children free from oppression, compromise, overwork, and all other forms of indebtedness. As mentioned, it has happened before many times. Please help prevent it from happening again.
Whether you celebrate your freedom New Year’s Eve (December 31) during “watch night service”, January 1, June 19 (a.k.a. Juneteenth), July 4th or March (Passover a.k.a Pesach), today and every day we honor Almighty God who grants us the right to celebrate, praise and sustain our God given freedom. It's worth protecting. We pray you will honor that sacred right and protect it too.
Read your Bible (Torah). It contains principles to live a good life with wisdom and integrity. The Word of God has always set people free especially in the Book of Psalms and Proverbs.
The Ten Commandments used to be basic life enhancing laws. They have always kept people who embrace them out of trouble. Memorize them. Teach your children. You won't regret it.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Personally, I have returned to the Old Testament (includes the ancient sacred path). No disrespect intended. I made a personal commitment to honor the Living God and not a man (idol) i.e. Jesus, Buddah or Mohammad. That’s just me. Honor your god.
Seek out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for My mouth it hath commanded, and His Spirit it hath gathered them. Isaiah 34:16

“‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit in you and move you to follow My decrees and be careful to keep My laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be My people, and I will be Your God." Ezekiel 36:24-28
