Thanksgiving is just a breath away. There's shopping, meal planning, cooking and hectic family travel. What to do?
For some of you it's all joy. You're a pro. You've been doing this for decades. It's sheer pleasure.
For others, it's what do I bring when I know I can't cook, don't cook, won't cook or nor want to volunteer to help prepare the meal. Don't worry. This blog is for you.
Cooking is not for everyone. It should be. We all need to eat. But let's face it, some people are gifted in other ways. Be creative. Here are a few things you can contribute or bring to the table to express your gratitude.
- Fresh flowers in a vase. (don't make the host search and find a vase)
- Soft scented candles (nothing harsh - people have their own preferences - no incense)
- Themed napkins. (Don't be upset if the host already has her/his own)
- Take out plates. (You already know.)
- Themed mugs. (Because there's breakfast in pjs the next day)
- Themed t-shirts (Sure why not)
- Themed Cook's apron. (Show the chef(s) some love)
- Holiday Card. (Thank yous are under rated. Card not text is classier if host is over 40. $tuff card if you can)
Alright. In case you haven't guessed, our sponsors at DeuxRiche have some lovely Thanksgiving aprons, coffee mugs, t-shirts, and hoodies and more you can order before the big meal. Wear comfy clothes. Travel safely. Consider taking additional leftovers to a local homeless shelter. Thank you!
Gobble gobble.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.
— Psalm 92:1
