A: How it works is that when you plug the AC power cord into the back of the unit, the batteries are cut off. He may have unplugged it from the wall but left the power cord plugged into the back of the radio. He needs to unplug the power cord from the back of the radio, as well as unplug the cord from the electric outlet, to get it to work on batteries.
A: Probably just installed the battery's wrong,check polarity of battery's and make sure their still good battery's and not dead.
