The Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution, or CBSPD, is the second organization to provide certifications and has since amassed over 33,000 active certifications. is a highly respected in the industry and participates in the development of AAMI standards.  

Sterile Processing Technicians (SPDs) play a crucial role in healthcare. A functioning hospital relies heavily on its central service department and skilled SPDs. This high demand translates to excellent job prospects after earning your certification – this means no waiting around!

The course is self-paced, so you can complete the material at a time and pace that works best for you. 

While our course is self-paced, the CBSPD offers the SPD Techs exam four (04) times a year, typically in February, May, August, and November. The first exam for the year takes place in February.
