Carrie’s Sweet Art – Standard Use License

Effective Date: October 14, 2025

Looking for commercial-use digital products? Browse my ready-to-use packs here [shop digital products]. Every product in my shop includes a small commercial license for up to 250 end products per design; full details below: with extended licensing available for higher volumes—see full details below.

Design Ownership

All designs, artwork, embroidery patterns, and embroidery stitch files (including but not limited to PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3) (collectively, “Designs”) are original works designed and digitized by Carrie’s Sweet Art.

Purchasing or downloading a Design grants you a license to use the Design—it does not transfer ownership or copyright.

What You ARE Allowed to Do ✅

With a Standard Use License, you may:

General Use

  • Use Designs for personal projects
  • Use Designs to create handmade physical products for sale (small business use only)

⚠️ Important Requirement

The Design must be combined with other design elements.

The Design may not be used as a standalone image or stitch-out, even on physical products.

Examples of allowed combinations:

  • Designs combined with text, backgrounds, borders, frames, appliqué, patterns, or additional graphics
  • Multi-element compositions where the Design is part of a larger layout
  • Repeating or seamless patterns only when multiple elements are used and the Design is not the sole or dominant element

Embroidery-Specific Permissions 🧵

You may:

  • Use the provided embroidery stitch files exactly as delivered by Carrie’s Sweet Art
  • Use Designs to create embroidered physical items (clothing, accessories, décor) that you personally stitch
  • Resize, recolor, rotate, mirror, or make minor edits necessary for embroidery layout or hooping
  • Convert files for personal machine compatibility only (e.g., PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3)
  • Adjust stitch density or sequencing only as needed for your fabric, stabilizer, or machine

🚫 Important: You may not re-digitize, re-trace, or recreate the embroidery design for resale, sharing, or redistribution in any form—even if modified.

Handmade Only

  • Sell handmade items you personally produce
  • No factory, automated, print-on-demand, or mass production

Other Allowed Uses

  • Use Designs on gifted or donated items
  • Use in wall art or home décor only when combined with other elements

Seat / User License

  • 1 license = 1 person
  • Standered licensing (included automatically): use each design in up to 250 end products per design with no extra fee.
  • Extended licenses required only if you plan to create more than 250 end products per design.
  • Each individual using the Design must hold their own license
  • Includes employees, partners, shared machines, classrooms, studios, or households

What You Are NOT Allowed to Do ❌

You may not:

Standalone & Redistribution

  • Use the Design by itself on any product, listing, or artwork
  • Sell, share, gift, trade, or redistribute any digital files
  • Upload Designs to shared drives, groups, forums, or marketplaces
  • Include Designs in digital bundles, kits, or downloads

Digital Product Restrictions

  • Create or sell new digital products using the Designs, including:
  • Embroidery files or stitch files (including re-digitized, altered, or converted versions)
  • Digitized embroidery patterns or stitch maps
  • SVGs, PNGs, clip art, templates, or sublimation files

Production Restrictions

  • Use Designs in mass production, manufacturing, or factory environments
  • Offer Designs in a machine-for-hire, shared equipment, or rental setup
  • Allow others access to the files or machines containing the files

Method Restrictions

  • Use designs in non-embroidery production methods, including:
  • Cutting files (SVG)
  • Sublimation
  • Screen printing, DTF, DTG
  • Engraving, laser cutting, glass etching, tattoos

Ownership & Branding

  • Claim Designs as your own
  • Register Designs (or derivatives) as trademarks, logos, or brand identifiers
  • Use Carrie’s Sweet Art product photos, mockups, or listing descriptions

Edits & Derivatives

  • Minor embroidery-related edits (resizing, recoloring, stitch density adjustments) are permitted for personal production only
  • Any edits or modifications do not create new ownership
  • All Designs, stitch files, and derivatives remain the intellectual property of Carrie’s Sweet Art
  • Edited or digitized files may not be shared, sold, licensed, or redistributed in any digital form

Extended Business License 🏷️

Businesses may purchase an Extended Business License for expanded rights.

An extended business license may allow:

  • Use by multiple employees or team members
  • Use on multiple machines
  • Higher-volume production beyond small handmade quantities
  • Expanded commercial permissions as defined in the extended license terms

👉 Extended licenses are not included with the Standard Use License and must be purchased separately.
