Did you know that the heavenly angels hearken to the voice of God's Word? We just need to speak the Word and pray the Word. We can also sing the Word! When we do any of these things while simultaneously including Scriptures on His promised blessings, we put the angels in motion to manifest God's will. This happens because we're standing in agreement with God for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
1. Word-Based Prayers
Similar to the prompting on a computer, the angels are voice-triggered. They are prompted into action by hearing God’s voice and also when we give voice to the Word. The angels are always in “ready mode.” The Lord’s Word moves them into swift action when we speak and pray the Scriptures. For this reason, I believe the best kind of prayers are the ones based on the Word, where the Scriptures are generously disbursed throughout the prayer and spoken out loud.
Bless the Lord, all ye his angels, mighty in strength, who perform his bidding, ready to hearken to the voice of his words. Bless the LORD, ye angels of his: ye mighty in strength, that fulfill his word, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Psalm 103:20 KJV
Are they [angels] not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14. Note: the word “angels” inside brackets added for clarity.
2. Prayers of Worship
God is seeking worshippers. God is Sovereign, Creator, and King. In the natural, it is protocol to bring a gift before earthly kings when going to visit them. As our heavenly Father, we are His children. God as the Sovereign Lord and King, we are the lower kings, under the masterful leadership of His domain. As such we bring our worship as one of many gifts we can give as we enter His gates with thanksgiving.
The hour is coming and now is when those who worship God will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. John 4:23, 24
3. Ask in the Name of Jesus
Today Jesus’ followers, like in Bible days, have the authority to use the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus. When Jesus rose from the dead, he rose with all power. He triumphed over death and sin. Colossians 2:15. Whenever we use the name of Jesus or the blood of Jesus, we’re reminding all opposing forces that we too triumphed when Jesus rose from the dead. As the Body of Christ, we operate in the same authority that Jesus would operate in if He was walking the earth now. John 14:12
These are tools that activate kingly and priestly authority as a Christian. It's not an all inclusive list, but it's a good way to get started.
