Get in God’s Presence.
There’s nothing like the presence of God. What is the presence of God? The presence of God is the Spirit of God. Many say that it’s the glory of God because of what Moses experienced on the mountain when God told Moses he was standing on holy ground. Moses’ face shined with the glory of God when he came down from the mountain and the people could not look upon his face because his face was so bright. Exodus 34:29. And perhaps many recount when God put Moses in the cleft of the rock and put His hand to cover the cleft as He passed by Moses. See Exodus 33:19 to 23.
Either way, the presence of God can almost feel tangible and it leaves behind a residue. God doesn’t just come and leave and that’s it. When His presence is there, some kind of joy and/or victory happens. Some people see, feel, and/or experience blessing(s), deliverance, healing, breakthrough, and/or the goodness of God when they’re in God’s presence.
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. II Corinthians 3:17 KJV
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11 KJV
How Do We Get in the Presence of God?
A. Pray. The Bible tells us in I Thessalonians 5:17 that we should pray without ceasing. This does not mean we pray 24 hours a day. It means we should maintain a spirit of prayer as much as we can throughout the day. When we pray and include Scriptures in our Devotional time. See Matthew 7:7 and Matthew 21:22.
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Luke 18:1 KJV
B. Praise and Sing Songs of Worship. Singing hymns and songs of worship to God makes it much easier to get into God’s presence. See Psalm 100:1 to 5 and Psalm 147.
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Psalm 148:1 to 6 KJV
C. Attend Christian Gatherings or watch videos of Prayer meetings and Worship services where God’s power and presence is strong. See Zechariah 2:5, I Corinthians 5:4, Revelation 21:3
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19 to 20 KJV
D. Yield and Be Filled with the Holy Spirit. See Matthew 5:6, Acts 4:31, and Ephesians 5:18.
When you enter God’s holy presence, wait, be quiet for at least 5 minutes. Listen for His still, small voice and whatever He tells you to do, do it. Don’t delay.
No matter how you look at it, God's presence has profound effects on our lives. God loves His people and He loves to be in our midst. There is a sense of triumph and happiness when He makes His presence known. Those who are in God's presence may see, feel, and experience kinds of blessings, too many to list here. The main idea is that our lives are changed by God's presence and it’s always with the purpose of making us better and drawing us closer to Him.
Blessings,
Tanda
