Introduction: Hold Fast to Your Confession Without Wavering.

Words are spirits. Words house our desires and convey messages stored in spiritual containers that we speak. Words are more than communication. Remember, behind every word we speak are spirits (good or bad). That’s why it’s essential that we protect our Confessions and also our regular conversations. And say only the things we choose to manifest. That means sticking with our Confessions until it comes to pass. The best way to consistently speak words that work in harmony with what is true, pure, and upright is to incorporate the Word into your daily conversations.

What Are Confessions?

Confessions are words that you intentionally speak concerning the things you want to see manifest in your life or the lives of others. They are the words you decree, believing that those words will come to pass. Faith Confessions are based on the Scriptures. One of the many benefits of speaking a Faith Confession is that it gives you a strong footing and foundation for what you expect to receive. I use the word "foundation" because God is the author and creator of life (all things visible and invisible). He's the founder of the universe. God used words to speak the world into existence. He said, "let there be light" (in Genesis 1:3), and light appeared.

Some people refer to confessions as “Affirmations,” while others call them “Bible Confessions.” Here’s a short list of various synonyms for Confessions:

  • Declarations of faith
  • Decrees
  • Decreeing the Word
  • Faith Confessions
  • Professions of faith
  • Speaking the Word
  • Statements of belief

Jesus Spoke to Things.

God made us kings and priests. We are speaking spirits. We can call things forth as if they already exist.

Jesus spoke healing to the sick. He spoke to the fig tree. Mark 11:21. He spoke to the thunderous waves of the sea. Matthew 8:23 - 27. Jesus is our example. We should speak.

38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was [o]sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them. Luke 4:38, 39 NKJV

32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” Mark 5:32 to 34 NKJV

Faith Resides in 2 Places.

When you pray believe that you receive it, and you’ll have what you say. When you pray, know that God hears you and will answer. Faith is in 2 places: 1) It’s in your heart, 2) It’s in your mouth. See Romans 10:8. The Bible tells us to speak to the mountain. If we don’t doubt in our hearts, the mountain moves.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8 to 10 NKJV

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:22, 23 NKJV

Faith Comes By Hearing.

Say “I am healed. I am free. I am wise and operate daily in wisdom.” As you speak these things, so shall it be. The Word says, “let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” Psalm 107:2

You have 2 ears: your physical ears and spiritual ears. Your spiritual ears allow you to hear in the spirit realm. As you hear the Word, your faith increases. Romans 10:17

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7 NKJV

Don’t Say What You Don’t Desire.

Our words are like magnets. We gravitate to the things we speak that are connected to our core belief system. So we should refrain from speaking words that don’t line up with what we want. If you need $20,000 for an immediate bill, don’t pray for $5,000. Ask God for the entire $20,000. God knows what you need before you ask, so say exactly what you need.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7 NKJV

Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24 NKJV

We need to keep the Word in our minds, hearts, and most of our conversations. The angels don’t have to hearken to us, but they must obey God. If we speak the Word with the right spirit, motives, an obedient life to God, with the correct attitude, the angels will respond as we give voice to the Scriptures. But understand, it is not us directing the actions of angels. It is God directing them because we’re obeying His Word.

16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.” John 15:16, 17 NKJV

Protect Your Confessions

As we protect our confessions, we’ll find ourselves growing in harmonious agreement with our thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes, all aligning with the blessings of God, which is what we truly desire.

We protect the words that express what we’re trusting, believing, and waiting on God for by:

  • Be consistent in your confessions and decrees. Remember to base your confessions on Scriptures from the Bible; God’s promised blessings.
  • Listen as you speak the Word. When you make confessions out loud, your faith increases.
  • Don’t allow the cares of this world to choke the Word God has placed in you.
  • Listen to music, Bible teachings, and conversations that feed your faith.
  • Stay away from strife-filled, negative words, doubtful conversations, radio, t.v. programs. And anything else that promotes unbelief in the promised blessings you're using from the Scriptures.

As you protect your words, watch God use your confessions to bring forth bountiful harvests of good things à only blessings!

Summary.

Words are spiritual containers that store desires and messages. Protecting Confessions and regular conversations is crucial. Say only what you choose to manifest, sticking with them until they come to pass. Incorporate the Word into daily conversations. If you want to get and keep your life moving forward, use the Word.

Blessings,
