God has given to every person the measure of faith. See Romans 12:3. “The measure” means He knew before time what we could handle and who would best utilize the measure of faith given to us. Let’s look below to see a few reasons why we should stand on the Word for the things which we’re believing God.
Why Stand on the Word?
It’s reliable. Let’s face it the Bible is trustworthy.
“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” I Corinthians 1:9 AMPC
Instructs us how to live in righteousness; prepared for good works.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. II Timothy 3:16, 17 KJV
It shows us where we’re weak and strengthens us.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 KJV
It builds our faith. We increase in trust and belief in the Word as we study and continue in it.
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. Romans 10:17, 18 KJV
Without a Scripture to back you up, it can be difficult to maintain your trust in a certain area. It is best to rely on the Word in order to maintain one's faith. Get at least two to three Scriptures that pertain to your situation. Write them out and then confess them daily. Be encouraged and believe. The Lord loves you and He will help you as you seek Him.
