Total Eclipse of the Heart: Revelation, Reckoning & the Beginning of a New Cycle Weekly Astrology Forecast: August 10–16, 2026

There are weeks when the astrology seems to describe what is happening around us, and then there are weeks when it feels as though the cosmos reaches directly into the story and changes the script. This is one of those weeks. We are moving through revelations, disillusionment, emotional awakenings, collapsing identities and sudden shifts in consciousness, all leading us toward one of the most significant energetic turning points of the month: the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12.

Perhaps most significantly, this eclipse arrives as we close out the energetic window of the Lionsgate Portal. I do not believe that timing is insignificant. Whatever has been revealed, stripped away, illuminated or destabilized through this portal may now require a deeper level of processing. Lionsgate may have shown us the truth, but the eclipse asks a much more difficult question: What are you going to do with what you can no longer unsee?

The phrase that came through very strongly for this eclipse was “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Leo rules the heart, but it also rules identity, creativity, courage, pride, visibility, self-expression and the part of us that longs to feel fully alive. This eclipse may therefore represent much more than an emotional turning point. For some, this could feel like a total eclipse of identity, a strange pause or even a glitch in the matrix where the version of ourselves we have been maintaining suddenly no longer makes sense.

Something is changing this week, and once the veil comes down, putting it back up may no longer be an option.

Monday, August 10: The Veil Comes Down

Monday begins the week with extraordinarily revealing relationship and emotional astrology as Venus in Libra trines Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 3°57′ while opposing Neptune retrograde in Aries at 4°06′. This creates an interesting energetic contradiction because Pluto wants to expose what has been buried while Neptune can represent everything we have idealized, projected onto or perhaps refused to see clearly.

Venus trine Pluto carries the archetypal energies of The Empress and the Three of Swords, immediately bringing themes of love, value, feminine energy, relationships, grief, betrayal, healing and emotional truth into focus. Pluto does not do superficial. When Pluto touches Venus, it wants to expose what lies beneath our attractions, attachments, desires and relational patterns. Something that has been sitting underneath the surface may become impossible to ignore, particularly if we have been maintaining peace externally while knowing internally that something does not feel right.

At the same time, Venus opposes Neptune retrograde, carrying the energies of The Emperor and The Lovers. Neptune can represent unconditional love, spiritual connection, compassion and divine union, but its shadow is illusion, projection, fantasy and avoidance. With Neptune retrograde opposing Venus, something previously obscured may become painfully obvious. The fantasy may no longer match the reality.

Someone may suddenly recognize that what they called love was actually codependency, that what they called patience was avoidance, or that what they called loyalty required far too much self-abandonment.

We may also see another person differently once we stop filtering their behaviour through the version of them we hoped they would become. Pluto asks us to go deeper, Neptune removes the illusion, and Venus asks us what we truly value now that we know the truth.

Monday could therefore bring profound revelations around relationships, feminine energy, money, self-worth and emotional attachments. However, disillusionment is not necessarily punishment. Sometimes losing the illusion is precisely how we finally find the truth.

Tuesday, August 11: The Old Structure Begins to Break

Tuesday brings another significant energetic shift as Mars completes its journey through Gemini and enters Cancer. Mars moving into Cancer changes the way we act, defend, pursue and react. Gemini Mars has been mental, verbal, restless and scattered, while Cancer brings Mars directly into the emotional body. Our actions may now become increasingly motivated by protection, family, belonging, emotional security and deeply buried needs that we have perhaps been attempting to rationalize rather than actually feel.

Almost immediately, Mars in Cancer forms a culminating trine to the North Node in Pisces at 0°22′. Mars represents movement and action while the North Node represents evolutionary direction, making this feel like a moment when something begins moving toward its destined next chapter. We may realize that we cannot think our way into the next phase anymore. At some point, we have to trust what our emotional body and intuition have been telling us and take action accordingly.

There may also be a particularly strong activation within the masculine collective as Mars enters Cancer. Mars represents the masculine principle, but Cancer requires Mars to encounter emotion rather than outrun it. Vulnerability becomes part of the assignment. The masculine may be confronted with emotions surrounding family, belonging, home, motherhood, childhood or emotional security that have previously been easier to compartmentalize.

We also experience Venus in Libra trine Uranus in Gemini at 5°19′, carrying the archetypal energies of The Hierophant and The Sun. This feels like an awakening and possibly a rapid shift in belief. The Hierophant represents belief systems, traditions, conditioning and the structures we have inherited about how life, relationships and identity are supposed to look. Uranus disrupts those structures, while the Sun illuminates what has previously been hidden.

There is another fascinating layer here through the number 19. Karmic Debt 19 can speak to lessons surrounding ego, extreme independence, dependency and codependency, particularly the journey of learning how to stand within authentic personal power without dominating others or abandoning ourselves.

Something could shift very quickly Tuesday. A belief may collapse, a relationship dynamic may suddenly look different, or something we once defended wholeheartedly may no longer feel true. That can initially feel destabilizing, but sometimes awakening begins when an old structure cracks enough for the light to finally get through.

Wednesday, August 12: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Wednesday brings us to the defining moment of the week: the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo at 20 degrees. The final degree of any sign carries a sense of culmination, urgency and completion. Something has travelled as far as it can travel in its current form, and before we can cross into a new energetic landscape, there is unfinished business demanding our attention.

Within the numerological and Tarot system I work with, 20 carries the energy of Judgement, making the symbolism surrounding this eclipse particularly profound. Judgement is an awakening. It is the moment when we hear the call and realize we cannot go back to sleep. Something has reached the point where it can no longer be avoided, ignored or explained away.

Leo rules the heart, and so there may certainly be emotional revelations connected to love, heartbreak and relationships, but I do not think this eclipse is exclusively about romantic heartbreak. Leo also governs creativity, identity, courage, authenticity, joy, visibility and our willingness to express who we really are. This could therefore feel like a total eclipse of an identity we have outgrown.

There may be a strange feeling around this eclipse of temporarily not knowing who we are anymore. If an identity has been built around a relationship, a career, motherhood, success, being needed, being chosen, being rejected, being the healer, being the strong one or even being the wounded one, what happens when that identity no longer fits? There is almost a glitch in the matrix quality to this eclipse because something that has always seemed familiar may suddenly feel foreign.

New Moons normally represent beginnings, but eclipses tend to accelerate endings and beginnings simultaneously. They can reveal what has reached its expiration point and force us to acknowledge what we have known unconsciously for quite some time. Something may need to give before the new cycle can properly begin. This raises one of the central questions of the week: What has been running in your life for far too long that is no longer a fit for your purpose?

The Emotional Body Activation

I also feel this eclipse could create a profound activation of the emotional body. Unconscious and unprocessed emotions may begin flooding upward, particularly emotions connected to childhood, rejection, abandonment, belonging, visibility, worthiness and our need to feel chosen or validated. Things we swept underneath the carpet because we did not have the capacity to deal with them at the time may suddenly demand attention.

This does not necessarily mean that everything surfacing belongs to what is happening in the present moment. A current situation can act as a doorway into something much older. A rejection today may awaken the child who never felt chosen. A relationship conflict may activate an old fear of abandonment. Being overlooked professionally may awaken the part of us that learned very early that visibility was dangerous or that love had to be earned.

This is why I believe it will be important not to immediately react to everything we feel under this eclipse. Instead, we can become curious about what the emotion is revealing. What is underneath the anger? What is underneath the fear? What is underneath the desperate need for reassurance? Sometimes the strongest emotional reactions point us directly toward the places within ourselves that have been asking for our attention for years.

There may also be revelations surrounding commitments and the identities we have built around them. We may recognize that we have remained committed to something simply because we have invested years into it, even though it no longer reflects who we are. The eclipse asks us to consider where we have been neglecting ourselves to maintain an identity, relationship, responsibility or structure that has already completed its purpose.

When we experience an eclipse, the Sun, Moon and Earth align for a brief moment, and symbolically I think that matters. The conscious self, the emotional self and our physical reality are being brought into the same conversation. Something wants alignment. And what is fundamentally misaligned may become increasingly difficult to ignore.

The Eclipse Trine Saturn Retrograde: Rebuilding After the Revelation

The eclipse forms a supportive trine to Saturn retrograde in Aries, which gives this otherwise highly emotional eclipse an important grounding influence. Saturn asks us to take responsibility for what has been revealed. It is one thing to experience an awakening, but it is another thing entirely to restructure our lives around what we now know.

Saturn retrograde in Aries has been asking us to revisit our relationship with independence, identity, personal authority, boundaries and leadership. It can expose where we have given away our power, but it can equally reveal where excessive self-protection has prevented genuine connection. The trine suggests that whatever becomes visible under this eclipse has the potential to become something constructive if we are willing to take responsibility for the next step.

This is why I do not view the eclipse as destruction simply for the sake of destruction. There is a restructuring happening. Something may be removed, exposed or temporarily destabilized because the foundation underneath it is no longer capable of supporting where we are going. Saturn reminds us that revelation is only the beginning. Eventually, we have to build differently.

Mars Sextile Chiron: A Significant Masculine Shift

Also on Wednesday, Mars in Cancer sextiles Chiron retrograde in Taurus, and I believe this is particularly significant for the masculine collective. Mars represents the masculine principle, action, desire, assertion and protection, while Cancer pulls Mars directly into the emotional realm. Chiron retrograde in Taurus asks us to revisit wounds involving worthiness, stability, security, self-esteem, the body and our relationship with receiving.

For the masculine, this could bring previously suppressed emotional material closer to the surface. There may be childhood conditioning surrounding vulnerability, family, mothers, emotional safety or the belief that being strong means remaining unaffected. Chiron reminds us that the wound does not disappear simply because we refuse to acknowledge it. In fact, what remains unconscious often controls us far more than what we are willing to confront.

This transit offers an opportunity to begin responding differently. The masculine does not heal by becoming less masculine; he heals by realizing that emotional awareness is not the enemy of strength. True strength includes the ability to recognize the wound, understand how it has shaped behaviour and consciously choose something different.

Closing the Lionsgate Portal

What makes Wednesday even more significant is that August 12 closes out the Lionsgate Portal. I do not believe it is coincidence that we are closing this energetic portal on the same day as a powerful Leo Solar Eclipse. Whatever has surfaced throughout Lionsgate may now be entering the deeper integration phase.

Perhaps Lionsgate was never simply about asking the Universe to give us more. Perhaps part of manifestation is recognizing what cannot come with us. Sometimes we cannot receive the next chapter because our hands are still gripping the previous one. The relationship, belief, attachment, identity, wound or illusion that has defined us may have to be released before there is room for something new.

Whatever collapsed or became visible during Lionsgate now enters deeper processing through this eclipse. The portal may have opened the door, but the eclipse asks us to decide what we are actually willing to carry through it.

Saturday, August 15: Mercury Conjunct Jupiter in Leo

By Saturday, something may begin to make considerably more sense as Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in Leo at 10°09′. This carries the archetypal energies of The Wheel of Fortune and The Hermit, creating an interesting combination of expansion and introspection.

Mercury represents thought, communication, information and understanding, while Jupiter expands whatever it touches and brings perspective, wisdom and meaning. In Leo, this conjunction can produce significant conversations, realizations, announcements or decisions coming directly from the heart. Something we have been trying to understand earlier in the week may finally click into place.

The Wheel of Fortune suggests that the cycle is moving, but The Hermit reminds us that wisdom often comes through reflection. Not every realization needs to be immediately announced. Some truths first need to be understood privately. We may need to sit with what has happened and ask ourselves what this experience has actually taught us before deciding what comes next.

Mercury has been moving toward Jupiter throughout the eclipse period, and although the conjunction is too wide to be considered part of the eclipse's exact signature, I still believe it plays an important role in the larger story. What feels emotionally overwhelming or difficult to articulate around Wednesday may become easier to understand by Saturday. The chaos may begin revealing its meaning, and something that initially felt like an ending could start looking much more like redirection.

Twin Flame Collective: The Heart Cannot Continue Living a Lie

For the Twin Flame Collective, this week feels like an enormous confrontation between identity, attachment and truth. Monday's Venus, Pluto and Neptune activation may begin dissolving illusions surrounding relationships, karmic partnerships, third-party situations or even expectations surrounding the Twin Flame journey itself. Something may become impossible to romanticize once we have seen it clearly.

For the Divine Feminine, this could represent another profound layer of detachment from the identity she has built around the journey. There is a significant difference between honouring a soul connection and organizing an entire life around whether another person awakens. The eclipse may ask the feminine to examine where waiting, chasing, proving, over-giving or seeking validation from the masculine has become part of her identity. The question becomes less about what the masculine is doing and more about who she is becoming independently of his choices.

The masculine collective appears to be moving through a different but equally significant threshold. Mars entering Cancer and immediately connecting with the North Node, followed by Mars sextile Chiron on eclipse day, suggests that the emotional body is becoming much more difficult to avoid. Feelings surrounding family, security, belonging, worthiness and the past may begin surfacing. If the masculine has built an identity around control, avoidance, emotional suppression or maintaining a structure because it feels safe and familiar, the eclipse may expose the emotional cost of continuing to live that way.

This does not mean every Twin Flame connection suddenly moves into physical union, nor does it guarantee separation, communication or reconciliation. Free will remains part of every individual journey. What does feel significant is the potential for an internal reckoning. The feminine may be asking, “Who am I when I stop organizing my life around whether he awakens?” while the masculine may be confronting, “Who am I when I can no longer pretend my heart does not know what it knows?”

Perhaps this is the deeper meaning of the Total Eclipse of the Heart for the Twin Flame Collective. The heart itself is not disappearing. Rather, the identities, defence mechanisms, illusions and attachments that have been covering it are being challenged. And what remains after those layers begin falling away may be far more truthful than anything either counterpart could have forced into existence.

The Signs Most Affected This Week

Leo is unquestionably at the centre of this week's astrology. With the Solar Eclipse occurring in Leo and Mercury and Jupiter also activating the sign, themes surrounding identity, purpose, visibility, creativity, relationships and the direction of your life may undergo significant reassessment. Leo placements may feel as though one chapter of the self is ending while another is attempting to emerge.

Aquarius may experience this eclipse strongly through polarity. Questions surrounding individuality versus partnership, personal freedom versus commitment and where you have detached emotionally in order to maintain control could become important. Because Leo and Aquarius sit across from one another, what is happening this week may reveal where the needs of the heart have become disconnected from the ideals of the mind.

Taurus and Scorpio, as fellow fixed signs, may also feel increased pressure around circumstances that have remained stagnant for too long. Fixed signs are extraordinarily resilient and capable of tolerating uncomfortable situations for extended periods simply because they are familiar. This eclipse may illuminate where remaining unchanged has finally become more uncomfortable than transformation.

Aries and Libra receive another layer of activation through the Venus opposition to Neptune retrograde and Saturn's involvement in the eclipse. Themes involving self versus relationship, autonomy versus compromise, boundaries versus codependency and truth versus projection may become increasingly important. Relationships that depend upon one person abandoning themselves to maintain harmony may become particularly difficult to sustain.

Cancer and Pisces may feel Tuesday and Wednesday strongly as Mars enters Cancer and immediately activates the North Node in Pisces. Emotional truth, intuition, family patterns, vulnerability and the need for genuine emotional security may become impossible to dismiss. Pay particular attention to what your body is communicating before your mind has had time to explain it away.

As always, check your Sun, Moon, Rising and personal planets, particularly if you have placements close to the degrees being activated this week. The house in your individual birth chart where the eclipse occurs will also provide important information about the area of life moving through the most significant reset.

Integration Tips for Eclipse Week

The most important thing we can do this week is resist the urge to force immediate clarity. Eclipse energy can temporarily obscure before it reveals, and something that initially feels confusing may look completely different once we have had time to process it. Give yourself space between revelation and reaction. Mars entering Cancer can make responses highly emotional, so grounding before making major decisions may be particularly important.

Pay close attention to your emotional body. If your response to something feels disproportionately intense, instead of immediately judging the reaction, ask what older wound may have been activated. The present moment may simply be the doorway through which an older emotion is finally asking to be acknowledged.

Journaling, meditation, time in nature, creative expression and simply allowing yourself to feel without immediately needing to fix the feeling can all be incredibly helpful.

This is also an important week to examine the stories underneath our attachments. If we are terrified of losing something, what do we believe losing it would mean about us? If we desperately need somebody to choose us, what part of ourselves still believes being chosen determines our worth? If we are afraid to leave an identity behind, what are we afraid will remain once that identity is gone?

Leo energy needs creative expression, so give the emotional body somewhere productive to go. Write, paint, dance, sing, speak, create, move your body or spend time doing something that reconnects you with joy. Creativity can become a bridge between unconscious emotion and conscious understanding.

Most importantly, do not romanticize what has repeatedly harmed you simply because it once meant something to you. Venus opposing Neptune can make fantasy seductive, while Pluto insists upon emotional truth. You are allowed to love what something once was and simultaneously recognize that it no longer belongs in the life you are creating.

And give yourself until later in the week before assuming you understand the entire story. Mercury conjunct Jupiter on Saturday may provide perspective that simply is not available during the emotional intensity of the eclipse itself.

Closing Reflection

This week may not be asking us to become somebody entirely new. It may simply be asking us to stop pretending we are still somebody we have already outgrown. The Lionsgate Portal has carried us through an extraordinary energetic threshold, and now the Leo Solar Eclipse asks us to stand directly in front of our own hearts and listen to what they have been trying to tell us.

Not the heart we perform for other people, not the heart that learned how to survive, and not the version of ourselves that learned to wait, settle, over-give or prove our worth. This eclipse brings us back to the actual heart underneath all of those adaptations. What does it know? What has it been trying to tell you? And what has your identity required you to pretend you cannot hear?

Perhaps the Total Eclipse of the Heart is not about losing love at all. Perhaps it is the temporary darkness necessary to finally see where we abandoned ourselves in search of it. Sometimes something has to disappear from view before we recognize how much power we had given it. Sometimes the old identity has to become uncomfortable enough that we are finally willing to step outside of it.

As we close the Lionsgate Portal and move through this powerful eclipse, there is one question I believe is worth carrying with us throughout the week: What has been running my life for far too long that no longer belongs in the life I am becoming?

Because this week, the Universe may not whisper the answer. It may reveal the illusion, activate the wound, expose the truth and illuminate precisely what has reached the end of its cycle.

And once we see it, the next chapter begins with what we choose to do about it.
