“Doom Scrolling Actually Taught Me Something Today”

Hello everyone,

Today I was actually planning on writing about consistency because for some reason it was all over my feed this morning.

Every other post was:

“Stay consistent.”

“Consistency is key.”

“Small steps every day.”

Blah blah blah 😂

At this point I don’t know if consistency is the trending topic of the day or the universe trying to personally call me out. Honestly, I’m choosing to believe it’s both.

But then, while I was busy doom scrolling instead of being productive, I came across this reel that completely distracted me and had me laughing way harder than I probably should have.

So there’s this young guy walking up to a woman who was clearly a stud, and I’m assuming she was with a male family member or friend. The young man grabs her hand trying to shoot his shot, and immediately the male family member steps in like:

“Back off. She don’t even like men.”

Now most people would’ve taken the hint and walked away, right?

Not this man 😂

He proceeds to keep trying anyway. Talking to her. Handing her flowers. Smiling. Shooting game like his life depended on it.

Meanwhile the male family member is getting more and more upset saying stuff like:

“Wait until the family hears about this!”

And:

“I thought we were about to go get girls after this!”

I was DONE 😂

What made the whole thing even funnier was that the woman actually looked flattered. She kept entertaining the conversation while the other guy was spiraling in the background.

Honestly, if y’all find that video please tag me because by the time I thought to save it, it disappeared into the doom-scroll universe forever.

But back to the point.

The reason I loved that video so much wasn’t just because it was funny. It reminded me of something important:

Everybody is human.

And you genuinely never know what one small act of kindness, confidence, or attention can do for somebody.

A compliment.

A smile.

Flowers.

A simple conversation.

Being noticed.

That stuff matters more than people realize.

Especially nowadays.

People are so disconnected, stressed, emotionally exhausted, and stuck in survival mode that even small positive interactions can completely shift somebody’s mood or energy for the day.

And honestly? The opposite is true too.

You never know what somebody is carrying internally.

That one rude comment.

That one unnecessary attitude.

Cutting somebody off.

Embarrassing them.

Making them feel invisible.

You never know what that could trigger in someone.

And I think we forget that because the internet got people acting like humans aren’t real people anymore.

Everybody is overstimulated.

Everybody is reacting.

Everybody got opinions.

Everybody wants to “clap back.”

Everybody wants to be seen.

But very few people are being intentional.

That’s really what was sitting heavy on me today:

Intentionality.

Being intentional with your words.

Intentional with your actions.

Intentional with your energy.

Intentional with how you move through the world.

Because whether people admit it or not, what you say and do affects other people.

Energy spreads.

A bad mood spreads.

Kindness spreads.

Confidence spreads.

Fear spreads.

Love spreads.

And honestly, consistency kind of ties into this too now that I think about it.

Because your life is really built from the small consistent things you do daily—good or bad.

Consistently showing kindness matters.

Consistently showing up matters.

Consistently protecting your peace matters.

Consistently pouring into yourself matters.

Little actions become habits.

Habits become character.

Character becomes your life.

And whew… that sounds real deep for somebody who started this blog talking about a random TikTok reel 😂

But that’s life honestly.

Sometimes the smallest moments teach you the biggest things.

So I guess my message for today is this:

Be intentional.

Not perfect.

Not fake positive.

Not performative.

Just intentional.

Pay attention to how you make people feel.

Pay attention to how you speak to yourself.

Pay attention to the energy you constantly feed into your own life.

Because it all matters more than you think.

And if you need help becoming more intentional with your habits, mindset, routines, or daily life, I’m always here to help.
