Moving. Jobs. Schools. New cities, new friendships, new everything — all in survival mode since age 15. When you're always starting over, you get strong at beginnings. But nobody tells you what happens when the chaos finally stops and you're standing there, 40 years old, an empty nester with an associate degree, back in Florida, wondering: now what?
When everyone said "just start a podcast, just start recording, just learn as you go" — they meant well. But that advice hits different when a wrong financial move hurts your daily survival. When technology is genuinely unfamiliar. When the stakes are real and the runway is short.
I started anyway. Here's what I found:
