“Today I Just Needed to Say Thank You”

Hello Everyone,

Today is going to be a little different than the rest of my blogs.

I don’t really have a big story to tell or some major life lesson I just learned recently… even though I did learn something yesterday:

Watch where—and who—you eat from because food poisoning is real 😂

But that’s a story for another day.

Today I honestly just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to God, the universe, the Creator… whoever is listening.

Thank you for every day I’m blessed to wake up and experience life, even the hard days.

Thank you for every family member I’ve been blessed to love.

Every friend.

Every stranger who crossed my path for a reason.

Every lesson I’ve learned the easy way and especially the hard way.

And every blessing I received knowingly or unknowingly.

I guess almost dying on the bathroom floor from food poisoning got me a little sentimental lol.

But seriously… even with everything I’ve had to endure in life, I can honestly say I’m thankful.

And that’s a big deal for me because there were times in my life where gratitude was hard to access. Times where survival mode was louder than appreciation.

When you’re stressed, hurt, overwhelmed, struggling mentally, financially, emotionally, or physically, gratitude can feel almost impossible sometimes.

Because pain has a way of shrinking your vision.

It makes you focus only on what’s wrong, what’s missing, what’s unfair, or what hasn’t happened yet.

And trust me, I get it.

Life can be heavy.

Some people are barely holding themselves together right now and nobody around them even realizes it.

People are struggling financially.

Families are stressed.

Relationships are shaky.

Mental health is all over the place.

And honestly? The future feels uncertain for a lot of people.

But even with all of that… I still believe greatness is coming.

Not just for me. For a lot of us.

I don’t know exactly what that greatness looks like yet, but I feel it.

Maybe because I’ve survived enough bad seasons to understand that life changes constantly.

Nothing stays the same forever.

Not pain.

Not struggle.

Not heartbreak.

Not confusion.

Not even happiness.

Change is guaranteed.

And one thing I’ve learned is:

It doesn’t rain forever.

Storms feel permanent while you’re standing in them, but eventually the sky clears.

Eventually the sun comes back out.

Eventually you breathe differently again.

That’s why I think gratitude matters so much.

Not the fake “positive vibes only” kind either because honestly that can get toxic real fast.

I’m talking about real gratitude.

The kind that says:

“My life isn’t perfect, but I’m still thankful to be here.”

Because the truth is, if you woke up today, there’s still purpose attached to your life.

There’s still time.

Time to grow.

Time to heal.

Time to love better.

Time to try again.

Time to change your life.

Time to become who you’re supposed to be.

And maybe you don’t feel strong today.

Maybe today all you did was survive.

That still counts.

Sometimes surviving is the victory.

Sometimes making it through the day is enough.

And honestly? I think we need to normalize being grateful for the simple things again.

A quiet moment.

A good laugh.

A full stomach.

Clean sheets.

A conversation with someone you love.

A peaceful drive home.

The ability to rest.

The ability to start over.

Those little things are actually big things.

We just forget because we move too fast.

So today I’m slowing down long enough to say thank you for all of it:

The blessings.

The lessons.

The people.

The growth.

The setbacks.

The healing.

The chaos.

The beauty.

All of it shaped me into who I am becoming.

And I’m learning that even the painful moments carried purpose.

So before you finish reading this, take a second and ask yourself:

What are you grateful for right now?

Not what’s perfect.

Not what finally went your way.

Just… what still matters.

Because focusing on gratitude doesn’t magically erase problems, but it does remind you that your problems are not the entire story.
