I’m Shoo — a writer, illustrator, and philosopher of creativity.

After decades in publishing and storytelling, I reached a point of burn-out, as many creatives have – burned out by the noise, the hustle, and the endless scramble of the digital world. The Certain Way is the result of what came next – a clear, practical philosophy for building form with purpose, discipline, and quiet confidence.

It began as a modern, secular reinterpretation of Wallace D. Wattles’ 1910 book The Science of Getting Rich. It was a clickbait title for his time, but a book with a surprisingly grounded core. I’ve taken the best of his thinking, stripped out the mysticism, and rebuilt it for the world we actually live in now.

I’m not here to sell dreams or magic formulas. I’m here to offer tools for people who still want to fulfil their potential and make a difference in a world that often feels like it’s falling apart.
