About The Author
Tara "Shay" Hill was born and raised in the musical city of Macon, Georgia. She has carved out a powerful path rooted in entrepreneurship, leadership, and an unshakable dedication to her family and community. Tara’s story is one of resilience, ambition, and a deep-rooted commitment to making a real difference in the world—which also became the inspiration for this book.
Tara earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Middle Georgia State University, where she developed a strong understanding of human behavior and how folks connect with each other. Building on that foundation, she continued her education at Clayton State University and earned a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Leadership. Her academic hustle laid the groundwork for everything she would go on to build in the business world.
Tara is all about giving back. She finds true fulfillment in mentoring teens and young adults—offering guidance, real talk, and steady support as they try to figure life out and chase after their goals. Her drive to uplift the next generation shows just how much she believes in planting seeds for the future and making sure the next wave has the tools to thrive.
When she’s not out here grinding or giving back, Tara loves to tap into her passions. Singing, baking, and whipping up sweet treats are her go-to ways to unwind and show love. Whether she’s hitting the right note or decorating a cake, you can feel the joy and heart she puts into it.
Tara is the proud wife of Richard Hill, Jr., a dedicated sergeant with the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department. Together, they hold down a solid foundation for their family, raising two amazing children, Tyrique and Alex—also known as “Lil Toe Tag”—who bring light, laughter, and motivation into their lives.
With her deep faith, sharp business sense, and heart for the people, Tara D. Hill, MBA, is leaving her mark in her community and far beyond. She stands for leadership, love, and lifting others up every step of the way.
