When God Feels Distant

Scripture:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:

There are days when prayers feel like echoes in the wind, when worship feels dry, and the silence of heaven grows loud in our hearts.

You wonder: “Did I do something wrong?”

“Why does it feel like God has forgotten me?”

But here’s the truth: distance doesn’t always mean absence.

Sometimes, it’s in the quiet that God is doing the deepest work. He may not be loud, but He is present. He may not be seen, but He is sustaining.

Seasons of silence don’t last forever. They shape our faith, stretch our trust, and anchor us deeper than before.

A Prayer for Today:

Dear Lord,

Even when I don’t feel You, help me trust that You are near.

Even when life feels uncertain, remind me that You are still God.

Give me peace in the silence and strength to walk by faith, not by feelings.

Amen.
